Moen Curved Adjustable Spring Tension No Drill Shower Curtain Rod for Bathroom, Brushed Nickel Finish, CSR2172BN

For yearsI have wanted a curved shower curtain rod for my tub/shower. I've experienced one in my son's guest bath and really enjoyed the extra space that it gives you in the shower. My 35 year old straight tension rod finally gave out so I started my Amazon search for a new one. Most rods that I found had to be permanently mounted (screwed in the tile) and I didn't want to do that for several reasons. Recently I found several available on Amazon that were tension mountable. The only downside was that the added extension depth was only about 6" and I thought that I wanted more than that, I decided to give one a try and I'm glad I did, I chose the Moen version based on their reputation in the plumbing hardware world. It was relatively easy to install. I did it myself but it would have been a little easier with help from one other person. It is sturdy and looks great. I would recommend this rod without reservation!

This shower curtain rod is great! I thought the instructions were clear and it was easy enough to hang in my bathroom by myself, about 30 mins from box to shower. Took a little fiddling to adjust the overall length and then the tension at the end, but for the extra space i get in my shower, the 30 min install was worth it! The worst part about this curtain rod is the lip between the 2 telescoping rods. My curtain hooks were stuck on it but a quick fix with a cut open straw and some masking tape made the hooks glide like butter up and down the entire length of the rod. Easy fix!

I LOVE this shower rod! Easy to install and use, and it has really good hold! Excellent buy for renters who don’t want to (or know how to) go through the drama of drilling through bathroom tile. So far, it’s lasted about 3 mos since I installed it, and hasn’t fallen down at all…even with shower curtain, exfoliating tool, and wet face towel hanging on it (don’t judge me!😂).

It helps to be a mechanically inclined person, but it is well built. It works perfectly. The curve makes my inside liner keep water inside. It looks good and likely won’t rust. The end cups will only snap in at the correct alignment with the inside plastic. Make sure to reverse the tightening knob all the way back first, before installing, to allow for maximum range to secure it. Curve out please. Not down. I ignored the negative video reviews because I saw a pattern, and I could see what they were doing wrong.

You need two people to install it, and even then, it’s a hassle. The black ends have to be lined up perfectly on the wall for the end caps to fit correctly—if they’re even slightly off, they won’t go on. Also, the black ends messed up both my walls. See photos. Then you have to hold the pole steady while also adjusting the tension by either pushing a button into a different hole or twisting a knob at the end. It sounds easy, but it's not. It’s way more complicated than it should be. After all that effort, it still didn’t stay up. I tried three times and then gave up. I returned it. I cut my thumb and damaged both of my walls just trying to install a shower curtain rod. If I could give this product a negative rating, I absolutely would. It’s HORRIBLE. Save your time, money, energy, and sanity—Do NOT buy this rod!

Very happy with my purchase. Install was straight forward although an extra set of hands didn't hurt. Had the wife hold one end while I messed tensioner on the other. Solid shower rod.

As described in the ad. Looks good, works well, easy to install within a few minutes, quality seems good. Don’t forget to slide the little plastic piece into place where the 2 poles meet to allow your shower curtain to slide easily. This is my kids bathroom, so the tension is nice and tight to prevent them pulling down and breaking another one, and also gives them a few extra inches of elbow room.

Our shower feels bigger and more luxurious, we love it! Very sturdy. Great design and product.

This exceeded expectations. I was suspicious of a curved rod with a tension mounting system, thinking the weight of the curtain and its usage would rotate the curve downward. Not at all. It's going nowhere. Despite some comments, this is a simple install in a few minutes. My additions to the steps provided: 1) Move the plastic ring (that makes it glide over the transition easier) close to its final location first. 2) When you slide the end covers on, put a wrap of masking tape in the middle of each rod and tape the connectors to the tape wraps. This keeps them sliding all over the place whilst you get the adjustment right and avoids any possible scratching. 3) Ensure the threaded tightening mechanism is at its minimum expansion before you set the central connection adjustment so you have plenty of movement left once you've found the correct hole to use. 4) If you're going tile-to-tile (as I was) try to hit a full tile, not a grout line, to ensure maximum contact for the connection. 5) I can't speak of its rust-proofing at this stage but I have found in the past that avoiding metal hooks improves things greatly. Metal to metal will always wear away any coating over time.
