I bought this for my 10 year old nephew for his birthday and he loved it! He has spent a lot of time building cool stuff instead of playing video games, which makes me happy.

Some of the projects can be expensive -- requiring pizza boxes, pre-measured, dowels, and tubing, but others just require a few extras, such as glue. Engage your kids in DIY: It fosters a lot of creativity. Own a box cutter for the cardboard stuff. The book lists in the front the few basic tools you will need. My favorite projects: the superhero mask and the hideaway book. There are many how-to-make-stuff books in the genre, but this is the most practical.

I bought this for my 9 year old's birthday. He likes to be a "cardboard engineer," making things with materials he can find around the house. This book has tons of great ideas and is really well laid out. The projects are not overly ambitious for the most part and the example photos are fairly representative of what you can make if you follow all the instructions. A great book for a creative kid!
