Very expensive but an old time Lapidary method that stands the test of time.
As a newby to Lapidary work I have tried grinding many different cool rocks and Agate. Many have inclusions that cause the stone to break apart upon grinding. When used in a vacuum chamber with the rocks totally submerged the part 1 will wick into the rocks once the pressure is released. In my experience you "MUST" do several things for this to work well. First use a clean rag that doesn't release threads to wipe the part 1 off the rocks. Second once you mix part 2 with part 1 in a separate container I put them in a cheap toaster oven just under 200F for at least an hour or the solution will NOT harder much if at all. Finally what ever pan you put the rocks on will adhere to the stones. Some videos use aluminum foil, which I use so far but my stones often stick to the foil. Don't grind off the foil, I have found using a rock saw to clip off the foil after the Opticon hardens is the best method I have found so far. Of all the stabilizing methods I have found this the best but does take practice and research to make it work well. Finally this is expensive running from mid $20 range up to at least $50 so by all means keep reusing as much of the part one as you can from each use in the vacuum chamber and happy rock hounding!!!

SNL fries no chips
Love this stuff. Use it to seal rocks prior to slabbing, cabbing or just tumbling. Crystal clear finish. I mix with acetone and allow rocks to marinade for about a week in sealed container followed by air dry. Easy and effortless.
