My favorite tried and true!
I am a licensed nail tech. This brand is always reliable. This set is done with the sheer pink on my natural nails. It's a semi hard builder which I can soak off easily, but gives strength like hard gel. I use on myself and clients with natural nails and extensions. There is no lifting and no damage even after my nails were 1 month overgrown without a refill. Second set was on my client's natural nails which she grew from nubs to get to that length with this ibd gel. Proper nail prep is key. The negative reviews are from people inexperienced with gels. PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELVES BEFORE USING GELS AND GIVING YOURSELF DAMAGE AND ALLERGIES!!! This self levels pretty quick so you also have to be quick. Do one at a time and flash cure a few seconds to hold it in place. Apex building is easy. I love the translucent jelly pink color. You can see the sheerness in the square nail photo. It gives a flush of color to the nailbed. It's like your nails, but better kind of color. A no makeup "makeup" for your nails! Also, if it isn't curing properly then it means A.) Your lamp isn't atleast 48 watts. B.) Your coat is too thick especially if it's a more opaque color such as the white one. OR C.) You received a defective product. All of which can be true. I fully stand by this gel though. I've used ibd brand as a diy-er when I was a young aspiring tech and now as a licensed nail tech. *Last photo are of my natural nails with just the builder on. Even shiny without topcoat. Builds nice Apex for strength and durability. If you do it right there is no need for much filing on top! I did none at all. The sheer pink is gorgeous.

Love the product
Salon-Quality Results at Home! 💅🏼 The IBD Building Gel is a total game-changer for anyone who loves doing their own nails or wants to achieve strong, professional-quality nail extensions without going to the salon. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly impressed by how easy it is to work with and how beautiful the results are! The consistency is smooth, self-leveling, and easy to control, making it perfect for beginners and pros alike. It doesn’t run or flood the cuticle, and it cures perfectly under a UV or LED lamp. The Cover Pink shade is gorgeous — natural-looking, soft, and flattering for all skin tones. It’s ideal for creating a clean nude base, baby boomers, or French-style manicures.

Love this builder gel
I’ve gotten a few different builder gels and this one if my favorite! If you’re used to getting builder gel at the salon, this one is a medium consistency. Not as thick as the stuff at the salon but not as liquid as some others in a bottle that I’ve tried. This one makes it more user friendly in my opinion and less room for error. Prep is definitely key to make these last also less is more! I’m going on 4 (almost 5 weeks) from my last nail appointment and currently on maternity leave. Decided to try and fill my nails myself and if these last, I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to the nail salon! This photo is the product filled over my salon builder gel (before polish). This light pink is beautiful! A little more shear than the builder gel I got at the salon but that doesn’t matter since I’ll be polishing over it. This is 3 coats and buffed. I like that you don’t need a nail drill to smooth these out. I just used a nail file. I’ll update in a few weeks to see how they hold up. Overall super pleased!

Runs easily, cures nicely with a gloss finish. Sheer pink is nice
I have used the IBD clear in a jar, which has been too thick, wished to try the sheer pink. It is a nice pink color, but i found it quite a bit harder to work with as it runs too quickly before curing. I've tried adding an initial first thin layer for 2nd layer to adhere/hold to, yet even then, it would run into sidewalls of nail, cuticle area, making clean up necessary before curing. I've now used 3 different pink builder gels in a botlle, this one is my least favorite over Orly's light pink and Born prettys milky pink.

Great builder
Best gel builder I've used on the part 20 years. It's easy to apply, durable, and the color can be worn on its own as a polish. Worth the cost. I'm happy with my purchase.

Decent but not for sensitive skin
Easy to use, looks nice, I used duel forms and layered them into a thicker nail/apex. Worked nicely. Pretty color the sheer pink. Only thing is I am extremely allergic to it! My fingers are bumpy, blistered, swollen and cracked sadly. They hurt:( but not really the products fault I guess. Had to remove all my hard work

Just like the Salon
I learned to use this from watching my nail lady. I’ve been using it for 8 months now. When you prep your nails and apply correctly, you will not have any issues with them peeling off. My nails have always rejected all kinds of polishes. For anyone having issues, follow these steps: 1. Make sure hands are free of lotions and oils, but do not wash your hands immediately prior to use. Moisture will cause lifting. 2. Prep the cuticle bed. It extends down the side nail. Any gel on the cuticle or flooding the skin will allow oils and moisture to enter under the gel. 3. Buff the bare nail or file down existing base gel to remove smooth surface and/or lifted areas of gel. Wipe away debris. 4. Use a 2-step nail prep. Step 1, dehydrator to remove moisture. Step 2, bonding agent for the gel. This is a critical step for me, as nothing sticks to my nails without the bonder. 5. Apply a regular gel base coat and cure. 6. Apply this builder gel. If you’re having troubles building an apex, do a thin coat on the entire nail and cure (it is thick, but it’s easy enough to spread. If you’re having issues learning to work with the thickness, use nail art brushes. Can dip the art brush in acetone to clean up the edges). Go back with a second coat, and apply a thicker dab to the center. Once the dab starts to settle, flip your hand upside down to allow gravity to build the apex. Flip back and forth until you have the desired look and cure. Make sure to cap the edges/tip of your nail. This will prevent lifting from ends. 7. If satisfied with the look, proceed with color and top coats. If the nail needs to be shaped, it’s ok to file it down. A color coat will stick as long as you roughen up the entire surface. If filing, wipe debris away with acetone before doing color/top coat. 8. Go back and file any flooded cuticles. Again, this will help prevent lifting for longevity. Following these steps, my nails will last 3-4 weeks when I’m being lazy, though 2-3 weeks is the typical time between redoing them due to grow out. I am not gentle on my nails by any means. I often do my nails, then go out and do manual labor (building a chicken coop, texturing walls, you name it). It takes a few applications to get the hang of it. So if you are having troubles at first, give it a few more tries before throwing in the towel!
