Pentalic - 11"x 14" Hardbound Sketchbook, 110 Sheets, Black

I got this as a sketchbook to keep on my small nightstand by the bed in case of late night ideas, or to be able to easily stick in a purse. It's a nice sturdy hardcover and didn't get damaged in shipping. The paper feels good (I generally use a pencil, I haven't tried mixed media yet). I actually prefer spiral bound at times because it's easy to lay flat and draw without having to hold it open. The pages are perforated so you can tear them out cleanly later if you want to, though I haven't tried it yet.

I purchased two of these books for drawing and I’m very happy with the purchase. The quality other paper is good although there is a little bit of bleeding with black markers that are not permanent markers but overall it’s a solid product and I recommend to anyone who likes to draw and keep it with them.

I love these notebooks for nature journaling or taking notes about herbs and other plants. The paper is think enough to use pens, markers, pastels and not have any trouble with bleed.

This little book is sturdy. I've had it in and out of my bags for a while and there is hardly any sign of wear and tear. The binding is great and lays pretty flat. Works well with dryer media. The amount of pages for the price is fantastic.My only problem is that the paper doesn't take wetter pens or markers very well. The ghosting can be terrible. It makes it hard for me to experiment because I want to start mixing media and using fountain pens. This sketchbook can't take it.If you don't use wetter media, then this will work for you. It has worked for me, but I'm ready to do more.

This has been my art companion for years. I've filled six of these sketchbooks with both sides of their pages packed with notes, drawings, painting and scrapbooking, and they have yet to give me a reason why I should use anything else for paper-related writing or drawing. If you're using it almost every day, the cover spine will start to fall off after a year under constant wear, but by then you'll so close to finishing that you'll just slap a piece of black duct tape on it or finish out the pages to move onto the next one. Colors and Ink (aside from sharpie) don't bleed onto the other side or the page, and it's definitely worth it's price tag.I always order a metal symbol or icon and hot glue it to the cover with metal cover tips to make it look more like a spellbook, but it fits great for the professional sketcher and the doodling hobbyist. If it goes to say the quality of the cover and it's sturdiness, I Ieft one out in the rain for an hour by accident, but I couldn't tell you which one of the six it was.

I haven't drawn init yet, but I know my sketch books and this one is a keeper.I myself was worried to whether or not the paper would be a pure white or that cheap looking color. I was happy to see that the paper is nice and pure white [for us picky artist]. It is also thick enough for those who tend to erase a lot. But paper is paper and this is nice paper; you don't want to mess this up too bad.The front and back cover are both black hardcovers. Looks very professional. Seems good for especiallyif you're heading into college.It says it has 80 sheets [sorry, I'm not going to sit here and actually count to make sure]. I posted the pictures to show what I'm talking about. It's a good amount of paper if you're like me- you don't draw EVERYDAY, but you draw enough to whereas you like to buy new sketch books after a while. But because of the way this one is made, it should keep up for a good while. I doubt the paper will even turn yellow like it usually does after a while.I still have six pages left in my last sketch book so I'm extremely excited to draw in this one. I'm sure the price is low because of the page count. If it had 100+ sheets, it would probably be around $20. I'm glad I bought this one. I'd definitely buy it again AND recommend it.Also, it didn't come wrapped up or anything.I opened the box and it was just there. I guess it's fine because of the hardcovers, but I think it would be better if there were a little extra protection for the edges of the paper and possibly to make sure the spiral stays in perfect condition. Mine was perfectly fine though.

I have used many of these sketchbooks, and they are by far my favorite. I'm generally pretty hard on sketchbooks, keeping them in backpacks where they get knocked around. While Pentalic sketchbooks show clear signs of wear when I've used up all the pages, I have yet to have one come apart on me. The paper also takes media like watercolor and india ink pretty well. There is some buckling when the pages get wet, but bleed is fairly minimal. Considering the price, it's about the best you can get. I know that I've spent more money on worse sketchbooks.

I used this sketchbook as a journal and split it into 5 sections. The pages are sturdy and I like how I can use it as a sketchbook or a journal.

Cute book that is travel sized.

Easy to paint on and retains it's colors. Paper is sturdy but not too hard. Good purchase.

Great quality, perfect size. I gave this as a gift and it appeared to be a very high quality sketch book. Nice and sturdy and made with care. The cover is very nice and the paper is good quality.
