These are very comfortable socks and I'm generally very pleased with them
These are very comfortable socks and I'm generally very pleased with them. It's interesting reading reviews on socks and even gloves where some report their fingers/toes were cold in 30 degree weather while others report being kept warm at below zero. That said, my toes have gotten cold with these socks when temps are in the teens and I'm skiing. My boots are med/low-end boots but new, so perhaps that's important. I think the relatively low wool percentage makes these good for skiing in 20F+ weather but a higher wool percentage sock might serve you better in colder temps.

Save yourself from boot rash on your shins!
I got mad boot rash on my shins the first 2 times I went boarding Last season. I was desperate for a good solution for cheap! Ordered these and took them on my next outing and they saved me! Super comfy. They were warm but I'm in AZ so really I could board in flip flops and still be fine.I love that they are a little thicker on the shins to help with my exact problem. The padding is a super nice touch!I will be buying another pair or two next season for sure!

I'm very particular about my socks ...
Someone once told me - it all starts with socks - then shoes - then pants ... etc. So I'm very particular about my socks - especially living in Pittsburgh - where the climate can be harsh and unforgiving at times. Often the issue with 'warm' socks is that your shoes need to be sized accordingly - i.e. the socks are often very thick - but then your shoes are too tight. The Wigwam Sirocco's are warm by not as thick as you may think - therefore my shoes fit normally. Excellent blend of thickness and warmth. I purchased 3 pair already - and suspect that I'll be purchasing more. Great socks!

Stays up, supportive, temperature retentive
These are all good, and I have tried lots of different socks. They keep my feet warm in the cold, but are neutral in temperate conditions (like wool is supposed to be). Obviously important to clean correctly using Woolite, cold water, and air dry. Have multiple pairs.

A must have!
I actually purchased these socks for myself and my daughter. They are wonderful inside boots during horrible winters. There have been several incidents where I've been outside for extended periods of time and our feet are always warm. I can't imagine going through a winter without them.

Good, not great
These are good for the price, but they are not as good as $25 ski socks. They have a looser knit, not so dense, therefore not as padded. They also roll up and stretch more if you're cramming your foot into a tight boot. Once in the boot, they stay put, not much slipping down. They suffer a bit in the wash, but they haven't fallen apart after a season of moderate use. I have a pair of tele boots that chafe my shins badly when touring, and these were enough to solve the problem. I use them often, but for long days in frigid temps, I go for the $25 socks with liners.(I thought I already wrote a review, but I don't see it.)

Not exactly the sock I had been using for skiing but a good replacement!
good fit, nice to have some cushion on the shin and heel areas.

Good everyday winter socks
Warm and affordable! I wouldn't expect them to last as long as more expensive winter socks, but I'd rather have more socks than less and more expensive socks for everyday wear.

Recomendable
