From 3 months to 1 1/2 yrs old they have been on Dr Harvey’s. My budgies love it, they are very healthy and handsome. I do mix in zupreem sometimes for variety and they also get Harrison’s fine pellets. Value? Well yeah, pricey! But to me it’s the best and I want the best. I keep bag in fridge, and just keep a few days supply in a container for feeding. Sometimes I get it it straight from Dr Harvey’s website.

This is easily three times plus the cost of the brand I used to buy at a local pet store for many years. My budgies seem to love it (as well as the backyard birds who receive the leftovers). I will sometimes mix it with the cheaper brand to stretch it but admittedly, it looks far more natural and nutritious when compared to the other brand.

Seems to be high quality product but the fruit chunks are way too big for Parakeets and mine just didn't seem to like the majority of the food. They are color adverse, so they pretty much didn't eat any of the darker/black seeds which was most of the food.. probably no fault of the food and more my picky birds!

The new recipe does not include raisins which is wonderful! I was always concerned my dogs would eat the dropped ones….

DR. HARVEY's IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST PARAKEET FOOD. IT IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE BUT TAKING CARE OF MY BUDGIE IS IMPORTANT AND THIS IS THE FOOD TO BUY. WE HAVE BEEN USING THIS FOOD FOR YEARS NOW. RECOMMEND HIGHLY~~~

Very healthy choice for my birds. They love that it has fruits, vegetables and nuts in it. They love eating this along with some fresh vegetables. I will be buying more of this when we run low.

And it smells good too. My budgies like it but there are some bigger pieces in the mix that my budgies don't eat (fruit I think?). Too big maybe.
