Obagi Clinical Blue Brilliance Triple Acid Peel 4 Piece Kit (0.27 Fl Oz Per Vial) (OC7601)

Years ago in my 30s when I was having trouble with my skin, the dermatologist recommended Obagi. It was expensive back then and it’s expensive now, but to me, it’s worth the cost. The instructions say to use an entire vial For one application, but I couldn’t do it. It really stung, but it’s supposed to! So I broke it up into two sessions. Next time I will try the whole vial. Yes, my skin stung and it peeled a bit, but the aftermath Was worth it. I like that I can do this at home myself. I can decide how far to take it and how much to use. I wish I could afford to go to somebody, but I can’t. In the long run this is more affordable.

To save money, I’ve stopped getting as many facials as I used to. No more microdermabrasion and chemical peels and oxygen infusion and whatever else is going on these days. I have always preferred procedures that actually make a visible difference when you’re done. Obaji’s Blue Brilliance gives you the post-treatment glow at home for a fraction of the cost. The downside to that is that it IS powerful and power can be used for good and for bad! Follow the instructions!!! I skipped the instructions when I was applying the mask for only the second time. Instead of wiping across my forehead then cheeks, etc. I went from forehead to nose as I usually do with other products. There is a reason why the order is the way it is. It spreads the chemicals properly. I ended up with a peeling nose - especially where chemical fluid got trapped like in the creases! So don’t learn this lesson the hard way! Also, take your after-care seriously. Wear your sunscreen, so you have fabulous looking skin and not red, sunburnt, peeling skin! I also made the mistake of using the peel the day I got back from a beach vacation. My error became apparent very quickly! Usually I apply two coats and wait the full 10 minutes before rinsing. This time though after applying the first coat, my skin was BURNING SO BADLY I had to rush to remove the peel. Be cognizant of your sun exposure and realize that if you’ve gotten a bit of sun, your skin is damaged and must heal before a peel! I would say some very light discomfort is okay - for me, anyway, and I was experienced with peels prior - but if you are in pain, that is definitely NOT right and you should remove immediately! Remember though that I only have to provide warnings because this is a legit chemical peel! I wouldn’t bother with one that wasn’t (and certainly not at this price point!). I’m 40 now, but even back in my 20s, I enjoyed the dewy glow I’d have after a facial treatment and Obaji delivers! And there is no denying that at $25 per treatment bottle, it is by far the cheaper option. I use little wire cutters (or little pliers) to open the bottle’s packaging. I use a little ceramic bowl from the kitchen to pour it in. And I use a round cotton pad to apply the mask to my face. One bottle gives you two coats OR enough to share with a friend! And you get four bottles per package. Glass bottles with a rubber stopper and a metal seal - these stay good in your cupboard! I always intend to use one every few weeks, but I get too busy! The packaging is really effective, because I’ve noticed no difference in potency between ones I’ve used straight out of the box and the last one of my pack that I’ve had for over a year! Like many, I discovered this peel when I searched for “most effective at home chemical peels.” And it doesn’t disappoint! In fact, I want to explore Obaji’s other offerings!!!

I have acne pit scars and medium sized pores as well as skin pigmentation from my love of the sun as well as fine lines. I used this peel and it burned a little in a few places and definitely tingled. Less than an hour after using it my face was so soft and smooth feeling. It has been 6 hours since using it and my face still tingles. I believe what I received is the real deal. I'm an aesthetician and the glycolic peels we have used didn't feel this strong. I will update my review after the 8 weeks for a full report of the results. Update: my skin didn't peel even once from this however my pores are smaller, some of my pigmentation is gone, my skin is softer. The pit scars are still there if anything they're more noticeable, but my fine lines are reduced. In conclusion I would probably have to use this kit 3 or 4 times to get the results I was hoping to achieve.

Several years ago, I had the Obagi Blue Peel (deep peel), and the Blue Brilliance is not a deep peel. BUT, it worked great on evening out my skin tone and reducing fine lines. My skin is noticeably brighter and feels great. For each treatment, I used all of the contents in the vile by putting a little on the back of my hands and on my neck and chest. The peeling is very subtle, which I liked, and within five days I was able to go back to my regular skin routine (vitamin C, HA, and retinol every other evening). For the money, the Blue Brilliance provides great results and value.

This is awful, never peeled. Never saw any improvements at all.

This is my second purchase of the Obagi Blue Brilliance peel. This stuff has completely transformed my skin! It does feel hot and sting for a bit, but that dies down in a minute or two, and then I almost forget it’s on. Make sure to moisturize heavily afterwards, as this peel actually does peel your skin if you don’t! I have tried so many skin treatments over the years, but this has by far done the most to fade dark spots, reduce texture, and minimize pores and fine lines. It is quite pricey, but a little goes a long way; you really do not need to use much at all, so the 4 small vials last me quite a long time. I use them sparingly, and can probably get 6 months worth of treatments with one box.

I am quite familiar with facial peels and the Obagi line and found that this was ineffective as a true peel - not sure if the item is “counterfeit” or if it is just not very good but Obagi normally puts out a decent product line. I will not be ordering this again.

This is a weak, over-the-counter product and not to be confused with the original Obagi Blue Peel - which you have to get at a doctor's office and comes with a solid week downtime. I have been giving myself home peels for years and this one is definitely weaker than the VI Peel and the Jessner Peel, which I consider moderate peels. Maybe all the years have toughened me up, but I did a few layers, no frosting and no peeling for me. So, I was not happy with this peel. If you are a beginner or have sensitive skin, this is probably a good place to start. READ and FOLLOW the directions for safest and the best possible outcome! It may be weak, but it is still an acid:)
