Very nice!
I know I didn't NEED a porcelain palette, I just wanted one. I tried to cheap out with a white plate but it wasn't practical. This is the most perfect little palette. It's a perfect size, I don't paint large paintings typically, good number of wells and plenty of mixing space. The price was right, light enough to hold, heavy enough for the cat not to knock it off the table, though he tried. Love it love it!

Bottom side incredibly useful for mixing pigments
I use this palette solely for watercolor pigments, but I flipped it over and am using the underside to mix pigments. The bottom is divided into 12 square compartments, each 1/8” deep, each mixing square measuring about 1-7/8” X 1-7/8” (nearly 2” square per compartment—a good size). I like the flexibility of this palette’s design—I already had another palette with small, slanted slots for unmixed pigments, but what I really needed was a mixing palette. My other palette is plastic, and while it has its good points (it closes, which keeps out dust), I had the usual problem of having to prep it to avoid paint beading. Plus there was barely any room to mix paint. This porcelain palette eliminates the beading problem altogether, has plenty of room to mix, and is heavy enough to remain stable. It doesn’t have a lid, so I cover it lightly with a heavy duty plastic delivery bag to keep pigments from getting dusty. Lastly, it is incredibly easy to clean each compartment. I just dip a scrap of paper towel into some water and wipe out compartments as I need them. Paints come away easily, and this palette doesn’t stain, unlike plastic. I also happen to hate plastic, don’t you?!

Lovely addition to my porcelain collection
This porcelain palette is smaller than I expected but very useful nonetheless. The best feature is that it's reversible. One side has the mixing area surrounded by 18 wells about the size of a half pan. You can actually stick a half pan in the well with a little blue tack. The reverse side is also glazed and has 12 squares measuring about 4.5cm by 5cm (1 3/4 inch by 2 inches approx.) The overall size is 14cm by 20cm (5 1/2 inches by 7 3/4 inches.) The mixing area on the front side is approx 11cm by 15cm (4 3/8 inches by 5 7/8 inches. Would I buy this again? Absolutely! The porcelain is smooth with no imperfections and level, no paint running to one side or the other like you often find with glazed butcher trays. It's definitely light enough to take with you on the go although I personally wouldn't for fear of breaking it. I do wish it was a bit larger but if you're looking for a porcelain palette with a small footprint than this is for you!

Does the job.
Very nice pallet. Not too big. But adequate. Nice sized space to mix paint. Easy to clean.

Great pallette, Especially for Watercolor
I use this mainly for my watercolor, though I've been using the flat mixing era for my gouache which is why I bought another palette with no paint wells.(i forgot what theyre called.) I've had this for a few years, brought it to school for art(my art teachers were cool) and it hasn't broken mainly because I've taken care of it.

The perfect ceramic plate
Use this regularly and its double sided, so you can use the big sid with thenpaint wells, or the flipside where it has like 16 paintwells so you can do a munch of mixing but keep the paint separate. So, now I want two of them

Happy with size and ease of use
I love porcelain palettes because it is easy to mix paint. They don't pill or stain. This one offers enough wells to let me choose every color I need for a given project. The wells are small enough that I don't waste paint. The palette is easy to pick up and move, but doesn't take up my whole workspace, while still giving me enough room to mix. It is easy to wipe clean if I need to change colors.

It's small but great quality
It's worth the $14 price. Will probably get something similar for my acrylic.

This is a handy palette which can be used in the way shown in the main photo, or turned upside down for 12 shallow mixing wells. It's small (around the size of an A5 book), which means the little wells for the source colours are smaller than ideal – about the same size as a traditional watercolour half pan. So not recommended if you like to work with bigger brushes or for large-scale paintings over A4, but great otherwise. I ordered a different, larger Meeden ceramic palette at the same time and this smaller one is noticeably different in colour. It's a creamy/milky shade, very close to the traditional white of quality watercolour paper, which is helpful for judging colour mixes. (The larger one I ordered was a cooler/bluer white.) Overall, this is an excellent value palette if you work on a small scale: it's well made, versatile and a good price. And, as with all ceramic palettes, it's much nicer to use than a plastic palette, as the mixes and washes don't bead up on the surface.

I'm an very new artist and I'm learning watercolours and was looking for a decent mixing pallet. This fits the bill. I love how you can put in your colours and there is a large area for mixing. The fact that the edges are lower on the inside towards the mixing area makes it very easy to pull the paint into the mix yet the outer edge stops me splashing it all over my desk. It's big enough for me to use at home, yet small enough to take to my craft club class and not take up too much table space. Very pleased with this item. Not too heavy yet sturdy too. Not having the paints all the way around ( only on three sides) makes it very easy to clean too. Would recommend for any budding artist.

When I ordered it I thought it would be as big as the tin for 12 half pan paints, but it's almost 2x bigger than that! I like it a lot because I have spacious room to mix the paints. It's also handy to have two sides pallete so you can choose which pallete you want to use. It's a good price for such nice pallete!
