This is my second purchase from Zakia's...I initially bought the Original Black Soap for myself. I love trying new things, I love beauty products and good finds. Thought I'd try and see what the big deal was. I also thought I'd listen to the advice of getting the Kessa exfoliating glove.....I immediately learned this is completely, indubitably right and true! The glove is an absolute MUST people, makes all the difference!!! So, my guy has sensitive skin/psoriasis and had been having issues with his skin. Like some guys he just buys whatever without really looking into ingredients and just goes for the cheap crap that does nothing to help your skin. I got him a couple products including this black Soap with Eucalyptus because of the special benefits of eucalyptu and argan... He LOVED it, oh and yes I definitely got him the glove as well but to be honest I got his from another vendor.... to clarify I reluctantly got the glove from another vendor and only because Zakia's only offers one color, to my knowledge anyway, and I didn't want us to have the same color and getting it mixed up. We both agreed it is the cleanest we have ever felt, like super squeaky refreshing smooth clean! He loved the smell and refreshing clean cool feel of the eucalyptus. He's had no bad reaction to his sensitive skin. We use the gloves and the soap to exfoliate our face too. I would never use 'soap' for my face, not even dove beauty bar only facial washes, but this is ok for facial use too. Do not expect all the soapy suds it's not that kind of a traditional soap, washes off so easily. No residue no film, just squeaky Smooth clean is the best I can describe. By the way when I first got it I thought what a small jar, but let me tell you a little goes a long way. I've had mine like a couple months now. I use it 2-3 times a week I have even used it to shave or after I shave to get that extra smooth exfoliated feel with the glove. Your skin will be sooo smooth. I could not - Not have this soap as part of my beauty product collection. This definitely will remain as part of my beauty regiment. I will be getting the eucalyptus for myself next and will also eventually try the lavender and other scents they have. I must confess Zakia's did request I leave a review of their product and offered me a 10% discount code. This is not the first time I've been offered something similar and normally don't really bother. Firstly, let's be honest the discount is minimal to non impacting on the sale amount. Secondly, if I didn't really like the product I wouldn't say I do for a measly offer, thirdly normally with our busy lives who has time for reviews?! I'd rather catch up on news or on a favorite show or ... Well, never mind the last one ;) I'm leaving this feedback because I loved this product and will continue to buy and look forward to explore some of their other products.

Thank you Amazon for bringing these amazing items into my life. I am hooked on Japanese products Korean products and now this wonderful Moroccan black soap. I used this with my clarisonic and got amazing results. I have to say though the smell is not so great but there are 4 ingredients in this and no fragrance sooo I love that. I have acne prone skin. I spent most of my life in the sun. I surf and lived in Florida so my skin was pretty damaged. Now I reversed the damage and now this is a staple in my anti aging acne prone skin regime. How did I ever live without this?? I used this on my face knees and elbows and omg just pure silky softness. I just received this yesterday and am sooo happy. I am achieving the skin I always dreamed about. I also notice a little bit goes a long long way. I got the Argan oil one. I use Argan oil in my hair or coconut oil. Depends on the day :-) Now Argan oil on my face too. I love it!! I got a beautiful pinky glow after using this and it stayed that way today. Also the few blemishes I had are gone :-) You have to try this. Yes it smells and looks like tar but what matters is what it does. I give myself glycolic and acid peels. This is a wonderful product to use in between for that fresh glow. All natural paraben free and not tested on animals just another plus. No wonder Moroccan women have such beautiful skin. They use this!! I am done with American products unless they are formulated by recipes by other countries. I had a mild breakout from using coconut oil on my face. I am one of the rare people that coconut oil made me breakout:( this cleared it right up. I couldn't be happier. I will be purchasing again and again. Also now that I fixed my face I will always wear sunblock and spray tan ONLY!! I highly recommend this to everyone. Dont be put off by the smell!! Well time to roller derm put on my Japanese collagen mask and be plumped up for the weekend :-)

I bought this soap two months ago, and OMG, it was love at first try, where have you been all my life!!!? It does have a funny smell, because it is a natural product, it's saponified olive oil, anybody who is expecting it to smell like their bleached out dish soap has unrealistic expectations. That being said, I like the smell, it's very earthy, and it works amazingly at exfoliation in conjunction with the kessa glove. Seriously, it's amazing. If you want to smell like the shampoo aisle, you can scent up after your shower to your hearts delight, the smell doesn't linger, it just works brilliantly. I have keratosis pilaris, as do three of my children, and the combination of glove and soap is brilliant for all of us. The dead skin rolls off just like any youtube video you've seen of other beldi products, it absolutely works. It's gentle enough for the kids, even the baby, although yes, the 5 year old complains about the scent. Get over it kiddo, it makes your skin feel SO soft. I did have a problem though, with my soap liquifying. At first I thought it was due to water possibly getting in the jar, but no, even after scooping out the puddle, it continued to turn to liquid. I contacted the company through their website and through their information email four times, never heard back. In my last communique, I indicated that I was giving them a further 48 hours to at least respond before I left a negative review of their customer service and problem product. For reference, I hate writing negative reviews, I think people should resolve things with the company before complaining to the general public, but four attempts to contact over several weeks and no response?? That was getting ridiculous. Final attempt, I called the phone number. Right away, I was speaking to the co-owner of the company, he addressed my issues, answered all my questions, and told me he'd absolutely replace my item at no charge. He was extremely helpful and nice to deal with. I'm glad I made the call. That being said, there is absolutely a problem with their contact information on their website. The gentleman I spoke to found two of my messages in his spam folder, and could not locate the other two which were sent through gmail. So there is that, and I hope they fix it for future customers because it could totally lose them buyers. However, Zakia's Morocco has redeemed themselves in my eyes, which is great, since I absolutely loved their product from the get-go and look forward to using the replacement item they offered to send me, and others I will purchase in the future. He even asked if I wanted the same or a different scent. Really great customer care there. Bottom line, buy the product, it absolutely works (leave it on like a mask for at least 15 minutes with the water OFF, then rinse and scrub), and if you have a customer care issue, call their phone number. They'll take care of you.

I confess, I bought this product to use in a recipe for tadelakt, an ancient water resistant surface render, for an outdoor cob pizza oven. I wont be putting this final coat on the oven for another couple of weeks and so just for fun tried the product for what I assume is it's intended use...as a facial cleanser. I have never in my wildest dreams ever seen such a product. It has no false color and no false perfume oder. It's mild non-lingering scent is reminiscent of white ash. Not smoky but of thoroughly burnt white ash. It looks greenish black and...well...a bit slimy. I reluctantly scooped out a little dap and lathered it up for a face wash. Can't tell you how surprised I was at the pleasant feel of this soap on my skin!!! It isn't oily or greasy feeling yet it isn't drying either. I have super sensitive "combination" skin. You know, oily around the nose and dry as a chip every where else. After about a week of using this soap my oily area is not oily and my dry spots are no longer dry. This is truly the nicest facial cleanser I have ever used, including some very expensive ones from a dermatologist. Man woman or child you cant go wrong with this soap. Though for children be advised that it does sting the eyes as much as ordinary soap. As for its performance in the tadelakt recipe? I'll do an update when that final step is completed!

Don't buy it. This stinks like chemical. And the ingredients that were list didn't match the label.

First, I paid full price for this item, but I did receive an email subsequent to my purchase offering me a free product for leaving a review, good or bad. I have not decided if I will take them up on the offer, but since receiving reviews was that important to the vendor, I decided to leave the review. This was my first experience with black soap. I bought the rose fragrance. I have to say that it smells like rose scented tar. My skin doesn't end up smelling like tar, which is good. But, it doesn't smell like roses either. So, if you're thinking that your skin will smell slightly perfumed the way that it does with most scented soaps, don't be surprised if it doesn't. It doesn't lather, which was a little surprising to me. In spite of that it does a good job of leaving me feeling clean without having that stripped feeling that many strong soaps leave. I use it with an exfoliating glove and I think that with a regular washcloth it might not work as well because it is so thick. I am not sorry I purchased it, but I probably won't purchase it again. I just am not really understanding the appeal of black soap.

I tan a lot and need a great exfoliator to keep my skin fresh and new and this stuff is amazing! For my best tan, I take a bath with LUSH bath bombs and soak for a good 45 minutes (indulgence is key), then I wash with a loofah (to get the dirty bath water off) prior to applying a Zakia's Moroccan Black Soap and lathering it up. And then, the magic! I softly exfoliate using the Kessa glove and the dead skin just falls right off. It makes shaving a breeze and your skin look flawless. **MAKE SURE TO USE A GREAT LOTION AFTER - I use PURE Emu oil (THE BEST)** Pros: * A little goes a LONG way! I seriously think this jar will last me a year and I use it twice/week. * Best way to remove a spray tan thats turning against you * Best exfoliator I've found and I think I've tried them all * The price for the longevity and quality - can't beat it. Cons: * The texture is a bit gooey, well, a lot gooey. I've found using small (fingernail size) sections is easier to manage and warm up between your fingers prior to application. * I genuinely LOVE Argan scents but this product, just doesn't smell too pretty. It doesn't smell horrible but it doesn't have that Argan scent.

I've always had problems with ingrown hairs following bikini waxing. I've use Tend Skin, but it wasn't helping enough and I was reaching the point of wondering if waxing was worth the painful bumps. After a little online research suggesting exfoliation, I decided to go with this soap and a Moroccan exfoliating mitt. It has made a world of difference! --A little goes a long way! I only use a pinch or two for each leg. --The soap is slippery and gel-like. It can be a little hard to lather on because of this, however it is doable --Easy to use. This routine can be easily rolled into a shower or bath. I do this once a week. --I let it sit on my skin about 3 minutes, less doesn't seem to be enough, but longer doesn't seem to add much --I make sure to do this a day or two before waxing, and a few days (not the next day!) after --The mitt is scratchy, but doesn't hurt. Sometimes my skin is a little pink after, but this fades by the time my shower is done --I DO think the combination of mitt+this soap, and not the mitt alone is what helps. I have tried the mitt without this soap and did not have the same result. The best part? Ingrown hairs and post-waxing bumps have reduced significantly! I use it all over my body and my skin is smooth and soft, post-use. Overall, I've been very happy with this soap!
