Hasbro Marvel Legends Series Iron Man 6-inch Collectible Action Figure Iron Man 2020 Toy, Premium Design and 8 Accessories, Ages 4 and Up

My absolute favorite Iron Man character design. Iron Man 2020 is actually Tony Stark’s….nephew. I think? This character was created in the early 80s and the storyline takes place after Tony has passed and his nephew Arno now has control of Stark Enterprise. He’s no genius inventor like his uncle and the company has been run into the ground so to make ends meet, Arno pulls out the ol’Iron Man armor, adds a few crude brutish upgrades to it and begins work as a mercenary. This figure is awesome. Very true to the image of the character. Also, it’s an older Marvel Legends figure. Which means that, unlike its modern day counterparts, it actually has a few accessories. In this case an extra pair of hands, some “repulsor” effects for the hands and some jet boot thruster effects that you can plug into bases to (awkwardly) make him stand in a flight pose.

A great figure with spectacular paint and articulation. Comes with 2 blast hands and effects, 2 fists and blast effects which form a stand. I used a Tamashii stage 4 stand for posing which you can see from the photos, work well. A great alternative Iron Man armor.

This was not sold as a 'used' figure, but the package arrived unsealed and had been opened. This is way too expensive for a 'used' version of this figure.

It looks great. The individual figure is great. But it constantly falls down when set up on the blast stand. I used the correct ports for left and right. I also got the war machine that uses these same blast stands and it doesn't hold that figure either. So to set it up I eventually had to use a stand behind the blast stand.

Ah, Arno Stark, the Iron Man of the future space year 2020. Always loved this design over the contemporary version; the cogs, chest bracing thingy around the chest, the swirly blade do-dahs on the hips; it's both very silly and very cool. It very much puts me in mind of the sort of futurism seen in Metropolis, which is nice; gives the character a timeless vibe, whatever tinkering and redesign is going on with Tony. The colours are gorgeous on this too; all nice deep burgundy-red and gold. Articulation is pretty mega; standard stuff for the excellent Marvel Legends line. It's nice as well to be able to pick up a figure without all the build-a-figure pap too; packing in as it does some decent accessories in the shape of a bunch of alternate hands and some blast effects. I'm not much a fan of the latter, but have to admit, Iron Man doesn't half look cool with these all assembled and plugged into his boots like he's blasting off, along with firing some stabilising blasts from his hands. Nice. I like it when Hasbro/ Marvel chuck out relatively obscure stuff like this; here's hoping for 6" Death's Head one day to have it out with Arno.
