Sturdy Travel Umbrella
A great sturdy travel umbrella that really does well in the wind. I saw many traveler's umbrellas turning inside out while this one felt very secure and did not turn inside out. It is slightly heavier than a typical travel umbrella but it's not terrible weight-wise. Opens and closes with the ease of a button.

Apparently Flawless and Worth The Money
This is the 2nd one, and the smallest, Weatherman that I've given as a gift. I gave my niece the next size larger who walks 4 miles to work in a city each day. She was so thrilled with it she sent me a video of her using it on her walk in the rain one day without a single flip inside out. So, my daughter, her cousin, requested it as she recently moved to NYC and has had multiple umbrellas flip inside out on her. Because she's in Manhattan and travelling narrow sidewalks with scaffolding, she needed the smallest size possible and says this one has been 100% perfect in the first week of use. She likes the reflective strips, the fact that it folds easily into her tote, and, of course, the fact that it has refused to flip inside out when slapped with a gust of wind between buildings. She is thrilled with it! Brand seems to be well worth the money.

Great quality but heavy
Excellent quality umbrella! Holds us in heavy winds and rain. Wish the canopy was a hair larger so both of us could fit under it. We aren’t that big but still one of us will get slightly wet. I’m 5’3” 95 lbs, hubby is 6’ 200 lbs. Marked off 1 Star because it is pretty heavy and we use it for international travel.

Excellent
Looks good to me. I leave it on the door in my car. Good to have for those rainy days it's compact. I put a quick video up and some photos. It's comes with a small bag. The button both opens the umbrella and closes it. I put it in the video. Great product.

Perfect for international travel, but pricy compared to other options.
I bought this in advance of a potentially rainy trip to Italy after reading reviews here and elsewhere. I also bought the less expensive Repel umbrella. The Weatherman umbrella has a great build quality and nicer fit/finish than the Repel, plus it's about 1.5 oz lighter. There are 11 color choices for the Weatherman and one Folds of Honor design, and each of them has a cool reflective edge around the canopy. The Repel comes in black, gray, yellow, and red as well as three unique patterns and combinations but no reflective bits. The Weatherman umbrella is slightly longer than the Repel when folded (11.8" vs 11.5") and smaller when fully open (37.8" vs 42"). It is also a single-canopy umbrella compared to the Repel's dual canopy. Neither umbrella is waterproof, only water resistant. If you're going to be in a lot of rain for a long time, you'll eventually have water drops coming through the canopy no matter which one you use. I only used the umbrellas for a few days during the trip, and not much at all since then so I can't speak to how well they compare over time. That said, I do think the mechanism on the Weatherman is sturdier than the Repel and you can feel the difference when opening/closing them. Is the Weatherman worth more than 2x the price of the Repel? If you are going to use an umbrella all the time or travel with it a lot, the Weatherman's 1.5 less ounces and better build quality will make a difference. If you don't use an umbrella very much, the Repel is probably the better option.

A dependable high quality umbrella that will withstand winds of up to 45 mph. Looks & feels robust made from reinforced aluminium & industrial grade fibre glass. Designed with safety in mind with reflection material added to the outer canopy piping for dark nights in use, very effective. The canopy fabric opens & closes at a push of a button, however it will not fully close automatically. Cover sleeve included with company logo printed upon it. When open the canopy cover measures approximately 40 inches in diameter. A nice chunky grab handle with a looped thick nylon wrist band. Approximately 12 inches long closed, weighing 388 grams. The canopy fabric is recycled & water repellent with the added advantage of UPF sun protection. This umbrella comes with a lifetime warranty which needs registering with Weatherman.com covering materials & workmanship. Very easy to do & minimal questions asked in the process. However be prepared for the manufacturer to contact you regularly with new promotions & discounts. As I understand it the owner of this business was actually a weatherman for a tv station in the USA who was so disgruntled by the quality of the umbrellas available in the market place he came up with his own design & standards. This is my third Weatherman in current use, I agree they are not cheap but as long as you are not the kind of person that looses them you will find them value for money. Why am i fan? Because it’s understated & doesn’t embarrass you when you depend on it time after time, not to mention the lifetime warranty the company stand by.

Really good in wind resistance.
