Great Rice Alternative
I discovered this product some time ago and it is my go to as a substitute to traditional rice. It is so easy to prepare, just empty the rice into a colander, rinse, put into a bowl and heat in the microwave for 2 minutes. The plus side is that this product good value for money and low in calories. The texture is totally different from rice as it is wetter and it does not stick together, so is perfect every time. I should mention that upon opening there is sometimes a slight smell but once the product has been rinsed this disappears. I would recommend this product. Just give it a try.

Quite a pleasant carb free rice alternative.
Before purchasing I read the reviews and took note of the odour texture and possible carb content. Packet says nil carbs and sugars, odour not that strong and immediately rinses away, takes on the taste of a curry, texture a little jellyish and whilst different is not unpleasant. Overall earns 5 points because rice it's not but is exactly as described ie., a carb and sugar free product

An ok substitute for rice if Keto
Useful for a keto diet. Palatable if smothered in a tasty sauce like a stir fry or curry. Smells weird though and needs a good rinse before and/or after cooking. It works but don’t expect it to taste like real rice!

As advertised - would buy again!
So my main concern before buying was that some of the reviews spoke about the ingredients having changed and it no longer being low carb etc. I took a chance and was hopeful. The product that I received was the low carb version, so all was well there and this in and of itself made the product worth it. The smell isn't great, even after much rinsing, but for me, the trade-off was fine. If you cook things that are very mild, it may bother you, however I tend to cook ethnic food that is very aromatic and flavourful, so that this was for the most part not an issue as the residual smell was mostly masked. The product isn't rice, don't expect it to be rice. It is however, great for people like me, whose mind appreciates the rice-like texture. It can fool my mind into a certain level of satisfaction. Would absolutely recommend for people doing Keto or Low Carb, who miss their rice fix!

Super Fishy Smell, Unlike Other Brands
I got these in part to support my current Keto Diet, and while in concept they are fine, the fishy smell, unlike other brands, is utterly overpowering and makes the product almost inedible as a result. Much of the way we experience food is not just through taste but also through smell, so for me, that smell was a deal breaker and I won't buy the product again. First time use I opened the pack and was overpowered by the fishy smell. I have not experienced this to date with other brands to such an extent. I microwaved the product after rinsing, which perhaps wasn't the best option. I am wondering whether boiling it would dissipate the smell somewhat. If it does, I will let you know by updating the review! On the plus side, the texture is good and the shape good and a convincing looking substitute for real rice.

For me, best used as a dessert rice
not sure about anyone else, but the latest batches as of 2025 have no fishy smell at all. All I do is rinse in a sieve to wash off the excess package water then place in a wide frying pan on a high heat, as per instructions. I also then leave it in the pan with the heat turned off to ensure it dries out that bit more, as is my preference. Once cool I mix half with a low carb high protein yogurt (my favourite at the moment is the Pro blueberry muffin flavour). It tastes good and the the rice has a similar texture to dessert rice. I cover the other half in a bowl and refridgerate for later use. If I was using this as a warm rice for curry, I would only cook as much as I wanted for that meal and place the rest in an airtight container in water in the fridge, ready to be prepared the next day.

Almost didn't buy it. In the end I am so glad I did.
I know that this rice has had so many bad reviews on every site I have been on. That is the main reason I didn't try it not because of the bad reviews but, how many bad reviews. I am now absolutely raging about this product and the pasta and noodles. I have been on keto for nearly 3 years and I can genuinely say I have never touched pasta and rice. I did miss the chinese takeaways and I did try the cauli rice and other veg rice but it just was not for me so I did without. My grandson had bought me some noodles months and months ago and I just left them in the cupboard because of all the bad reviews . I had made chicken soup but, I do love chicken noodle so I rinsed them and then I dried them in a tea towel and then I dried them in a pan on the stove. I put them in my soup and it was a hit with everyone. For me it is absolutely the way you do them because the stove top way of drying is the best. I did try the dehydrator and everybody hated them. Next I made fried rice and don't get me wrong it is never going to be like the real thing but, is absolutely better than the vegi rice for me that is. I used the same drying method for the pasta rice and noodles. I have not stopped ordering them or eating them. I am really sorry I missed out but, there was just too many bad reviews. I found after rinsing and drying all the products was not only edible but, enjoyable. Oh I am now going to try rice pudding another favourite I have not had for near 3 years. I know people use cauli rice but, I just did not like that stuff. I will let people know how it turns out.

Amazon impeccabile come sempre.

A differenza di altri formati di pasta konjak è molto più accettabile il gusto e più facile da condire con verdure o altro perché il formato piccolo prende meglio il condimento e dà meno la sensazione gelatinosa di questo tipo di pasta
