Odysea Greek PDO Kalamata Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tin, 3 Litre

I’m so pleased with this item. Olive oil has gone so expensive to buy this seems really good value for money and will be perfect for my homemade Greek salads. It has many health benefits and also has won a great taste award which is always a good sign. I will use this oil mainly for salads and other creations as it seems too luxurious to cook with. It comes in a beautiful tin, which I will reuse it looks lovely in the kitchen. It is both environmentally friendly and reusable. The oil is versatile and can be used for salads, sauces, dips. I will certainly be dipping some focaccia into this kalamata extra virgin olive oil alongside a quality balsamic vinegar.

This is delicious olive oil. I lived in Greece for quite a while and theirs is the best olive oil, in my opinion and this is about as good as it gets. Delicious on salads and drizzled on food this oil has a great aroma, colour and excellent flavour. It is good for low temperature cooking but when it tastes this good it is a shame to cook with it ~ dunk your bread in it and savour the flavour. I love the Odysea products, try dunking bread in their Balsamic and this oil, heavenly!

This kalamata extra virgin olive oil is great. It's very flavourful, with a distinct peppery taste that packs a punch! One could argue that this may not be to everyone's taste --there are other extra virgin olive oils that seems softer. This one has a strong personality (like kalamata olives themselves!). I think it's one of the best extra virgin olive oils to use as salad dressing as it pairs well with other ingredients (I've used it with lemon juice, honey and salt, and also with red wine vinegar, maple syrup, lemon juice, thyme, salt and pepper for a hearty dressing). It is also excellent with a bit of balsamic vinegar to create a dip for pitta bread, naan and sourdough (once you start, you cannot stop!). It has a Taste award, which I think is well deserved and I totally here for it. I cannot recommend this enough.

I really love this olive oil and will continue to buy it. Unfortunately though this latest tin was dented in two places which was rather disappointing as it’s a lovely tin to leave on the kitchen counter. I’m sure the oil is unaffected but if I was buying from a shop I wouldn’t choose a dented can.

Love this, so much of it, quality and tastes good, great volume for the price, I am into my second tin.

This is a lovely quality olive oil and the packaging is also great quality and looks nice when left out on the shelf. The only cons would be you cant easily see how much is left in it and its so delicious you might eat more on bread or salads then you would normally. Price wise its in the cheaper category for olive oil but the quality is far superior than the price would lead you to expect. Its easy to open and use and dosnt spill when you pour.

Very happy with the quality. My favourite oil. So much lighter than the one I used to buy from LIDL during Greek week, and the price is also very reasonable for what it is! The container can be opened and closed. Very easy to use.

This is my review of the Odysea Kalamata Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1L. I really like this product, so much so, that the first one has all been used, and I have now ordered another. I found it to be a pleasant medium strength, taste and aroma olive oil. When you get the can, you need to pull the tabs around the lid upwards and these make a pourer/spout that you can leave extended with it's cap on. With the spout out, the oil pours well and you just use it like you would with a bottle of oil, and it is possible to get a drizzle of oil directly from the can. I was worried that a litre might be too much but because I like this oil, I have used more of it than previously. I guess this is a good thing because I believe that the main reason that Olive Oil is healthy is because of it's polyphenolic content which has an anti-inflammatory effect on your mind and body. You get 1 litre for less than twice the price of the usual premium 500ml bottle you get in the supermarket. Happy to recommend.
