It looks great on my desk and was a very fun build. There's some minor adjustments one could make if they care about perfect accuracy, but there's not a thing wrong with it as is

I gave this to my 69 year old father as a gift. He really liked it and put it together in 3 days. It's his first adult lego build. It is a really nice looking model and good size. I think just over a foot or so. There were a few issues. He said several pieces were missing but he was able to maneuver a few to make up for it. He also said that the brick which has a hole in the middle , to put the axle through, for the wheels, was missing. So he just drilled a hole in a plain brick. I'm not taking points off since it was an easy fix and he prob liked the challenge anyway. If they make other train styles, I'd def buy another for him.

I really enjoyed building the Lego model of the Swiss Crocodile locomotive. The instruction manual was very clear and easy to mount. The designers of the model managed to install an interesting system for moving the main wheels, that even open the possibility to install a motor (sold separately). Once finished, the locomotive has many nice details and is a pleasure to watch it displayed in my office.

The set itself is fine; if I cared enough to write about the product itself, I would probably leave a review on the Lego Shop. I never paid attention to the packaging description for Amazon products, but you may notice this product will be shipped in "frustration-free packaging." That means the set will be shipped without additional packaging, the shipping labels will be applied directly to the box, and a large strip of tape will wrap around the entire box. Thus, if you care about keeping the box or you planned to buy this as a collector's item without opening the set, I suggest you purchase the set from the Lego Shop. Otherwise, enjoy the set.

Fascinating design and engineering from Lego. Very satisfying to build, and beautiful to display. If you're a railway fan you can't live without it. Like everyone, I'm hoping for a series of hyper-realistic, historically significant models, be they famous locomotives or classic automobiles.

This train is super cool. My 8 year old assembled a third of it all by himself and I helped with the rest while. I gathered the pieces and made sure he put them in right until he let me know he had it down. He did have it. Nice train, very cool build and he adores it.

The finished model looks great and works as advertised. The instruction manual could be a lot better. The graphics are hard to see.

Everything arrive in good condition. My only comment would be towards Lego for creating the instructions on a black background which made it very hard to read.

My 7 year old put this together over 8 hours. I found the pieces for each instruction. And put them in a plate and that was the only help he had. 18+ age recommendation I think comes from the fact that it is nit a solid build. It can fall apart if your not careful handling it. The other trains we have are very solid in comparison. Easy to motorize. The crocodile has been a favorite of his since he was 5 so it was well worth it and it looks great.
