It's the best wood pellet bucket on the market
This is the best bucket for your wood pellets. Keeps them dry and shields them from humidity which will quickly ruin them. The built-in basket is genius, and is what sets this one apart from the competition, allowing you to shake out any sawdust. I also love how it holds 20 lbs of pellets with only a tiny bit of room to spare. My only nit-picky concern is the handle - it seems a little flimsy. But then again it's not like I'm going to be carrying this thing around constantly, so I think the handle will hold up just fine. I will report back if I see any issues with that.

Stout and well made
A bit expensive but very stout, well made and it does what I needed. Definitely removes a significant amount of pellet dust before loading hopper. I put about 10 scoops (scoop supplied, cheaply made plastic) of pellets into the screened container, shook it for several seconds as pellet dust could be seen flowing out. Then, added the contents into the hopper. Noticeable reduction of pellet dust. The container bucket tightly shuts on all four sides to keep pellets dry.

Might as well just get better pellets
If you've got a sensitive pellet grill, or you're using cheapo brand pellets that come with lots of dust, then this thing is somewhat useful. The problem is that it's overpriced for what you're getting. The mesh does sift out sawdust with a bit of shaking, and makes it more feasible to use the "dustier" brands of pellets.... then again, you're spending kind of a lot on this thing, so where are you saving any money? I would suggest finding whatever local or online pellets aren't smashed up into sawdust, honestly. If you're in a super humid climate (I'm not) then you might also be better served getting quality buckets with a gamma lid to really keep that moisture out. If you store your pellets indoors (I think everyone should), don't have extreme humidity in your climate, and get better quality pellets... then I think you'd be fine with either a cheap standard bucket, or a cheaper pellet bin. And that's not to totally discredit this product. Sometimes even the "better" pellets have dust issues, and this thing will sift that stuff out. I have a bunch of regular bins and buckets, plus one of these things. My typical method is to only fill this up halfway with roughly 10-12 pounds of pellets, then shake it around to get a bunch of the dust out. Once I dump this batch into my hopper, then I sort of advance more pellets into it from my cheaper buckets. Essentially, this bucket serves as a dust sifter on the pellets final stage before entering the grill's hopper. Is that worth what I paid? Meh... not really. Wasn't my best purchase. But I can't sit here and say that it doesn't work. I'll just have to use a couple hundred pounds of the cheapy pellets to make this thing feel like it was worth its price point. UPDATE: A couple years later, and I still use this thing. Upping from 3 to 4 stars, because the entire time I've been using cheapo pellets. I use a pellet grill that has a smoke box on it for wood chunks now, so pellets are really just fuel to me anyways. If you want to have an easier time using cheaper pellets, this thing will help, despite being a bit overpriced in my opinion.

I wasn't disappointed - don't think you will be either. These fit the bill perfectly
Bought 3 of these after getting my new smoker. They came in boxes which protected them from transport which was nice. Did a LOT of research and ended up down a rabbit hole about pellets since I'm new to using pellets. Several key takeaways for those who don't know or were like me - you want to keep your pellets DRY, minimize exposure to moisture/humidity, Do NOT keep them in the hopper of your smoker when not cooking, and keeping them in a bag, while doable if you take care to seal it up well after opening - still isn't IDEAL. Be prepared for some level of 'dusting' or 'powderization' as pellets break down during storage and transport. These Oklahoma Joe's buckets address ALL of the above issues for me. The lids clamp and seal nicely (I haven't done a pressure test, but they seem to close up well); the included strainer basket helps the dust/powder stay in the bucket and not into your auger causing jamming and clogs putting premature wear on auger. The included scoop is heavy duty enough, but I find I don't use it. I just pull the metal basket via the attached metal handle and dump directly from basket into the hopper of my smoker. The basket is all metal and has held up well so far, don't see any issues there. The containers are also small enough that I can place it underneath my pellet clean out port so when I empty the hopper of left over pellets after a cook, they dump right back into the bucket - nice feature:) The plastic bucket and lid appear sturdy enough and the only 'questionable' item I'm keeping an eye on is the plastic bucket handle which is also plastic. I could see that getting brittle in time if left in the sun too long but I'm speculating - mine are still very flexible and working as intended. I looked at a lot of other storage options, but for a 20lb bag of pellets, this fits the bill perfectly. They stack very nicely and are solid at three high. To be clear each container can store a full 20lb bag with a little room to spare. Loving them so far, wish I could afford more. The only recommendation to Oklahoma Joe - if your reading:) is figure some kind of way for us to label what pellets are in what bucket for those of us who have different flavors and multiple buckets. Should be re-usable.

This is a very well made and thought out product, which is expected from a well known BBQ manufacturer. It perfectly fits a 9kg bag of pellets and keeps them nice and sealed. Comes with a nice sized scoop but the best part is the basket. Once you load up the pellets, you can shake the basket to sift any loose dust before you store the pellets. It is annoying that you can't get these in Australia as the price point is quite high buying through Amazon US.
