Overall, i love this case. It feels great, seems very protective, doesn't leave too much of a mark, can close with a notebook on the folio inside, and though it took a little while to stretch, fits nicely.Just a few cons:Let me add a caveat - this is my first leather case so I don't know how the hole cut outs should be on leather cases (due to stretching), but the holes on this do not fit perfectly with the ipad mini retina, particularly the bottom. The cutouts expose all the necessary things (speaker, mic, and charger slot) but it feels like the ipad needs to be pushed in about 3 cm more for perfect centering. As a result, sometimes it's tough to plug the charger in by feel alone.Also, the pen/stylus that comes with it is beautiul. The pen has a nice weight to it, writes decently, and the stylus is excellent. People who bought a separate styles for their devices rave about mine.BUT the one that irks me is that the cap does not fit on the back of the pen, so you really have nowhere to put it while you use the pen. I know it shouldn't be a terrible thing...but it's pretty annoying.To all those saying the case doesn't fit - The case initially wouldn't close properly, but after about a week, it stretched nicely and closes easily (and auto-off works nicely now as well). The cut outs of the bottom never quite worked out unfortunately.

I have had MANY Kindle/iPad cases, as I'm a sucker for quality, unique leather goods, so I'm also someone who has been disappointed and also spent a LOT of money. I think this Kavaj case is reasonably priced and has some great characteristics for a reader like me. I don't travel except for short, to-town-and-back trips (I live in the country) so I don't require an ultra compact case (this isn't one), but I do want to be able to fit it in my purse, and I do want it to be attractive and protective of my device. This case serves admirably for those two requirements, as the design is very classy and clearly real leather, and it's sturdy, secure, and cushioned enough to be trusted. I also need to keep a stylus handy because my fingers don't always work on touchscreens (still can't figure out why). This case holds a stylus securely and unobtrusively.Of course, I definitely want a case that will protect my expensive devices. Again, kudos to the Kavaj. What compelled me to start looking for another case was that my iPad in its Smart Case fell gently off the coffee table the other day, and the case came completely off, and the iPad landed face down. That didn't strike me as very much protection. The only thing I wish it had is automatic sleep/wake, but the on button is easy to reach (top right corner) and it's actually not a problem at all. The strap that fits into a tab on the back is very secure, and there's just no way the iPad is going to fall out. If you're worried that you'll accidentally leave the iPad on and run down the battery, just know that you can see the light from the screen even when the case is closed so you're unlikely to leave it on. I highly recommend this case!

I just got this case today so these are initial findings. It's a little better than ok. It's not quite as sumptuous as described but it's nice looking. There was a trial and error period getting the case to stand and the video that the included instructions refer to, does not illustrate this particular case with the tab closure and pen loop. The pen is nice looking but when you remove the pen cap, it does not fit over the stylus end of the pen so you end up with a loose cap that may easily be misplaced. Again, it's ok for the price ( especially with a $25 gift card) and the only reason I replaced my nearly perfectly designed Belkin was for the instant on/sleep feature and for a natural leather look and feel.

Really wanted to like this case but it is too flimsy and doesn't hold anything in place. The iPad if viewed in landscape will start to sloop down into the case making the volume controls or fast forward controls on the screen inaccessible, this is really a pain if watching a movie in bed and have to try to make any adjustments. Also the business card holder is flimsy my cards fall out all the time. Nice try but bad execution.

This is a quality case, no debating that BUT customer service is nonexistent. The case when closed is not even with the back, it is about 1/2 inch shorter. I emailed the company three times each about a week apart to see if they has a solution for this problem with no response. I tried stretching the case but that did not work. The company has a email page already set up all you have to do is fill in the blanks. I am returning thist product and buying a different one. Not recommended.

I love this case. I purchased it a few months ago, and it has endured daily use and heavy business travel, and it has maintained its overall shape and feel very well. The one complaint I have is that the leather is fairly soft, so it will scratch. But that's admittedly of a personal problem, as I am the one who bought a soft leather case for a device that is continually removed from and shoved back into a laptop case, jammed into airplane seat pockets, used as a coaster on Amtrak, etc. If you treat the Kavaj case better than me (and just about anyone would), it will not only last a long time, but also look good for the duration.
