Finally reclined rear seats—my kids actually say it’s comfy now.
This Ohio Diesel Parts recline kit actually changes the angle of the rear seat by about 2.5″, and my passengers immediately noticed the difference. No more upright torture—now it’s casual comfort even on longer trips ✅ What I Liked: Noticeable recline – Gains about 2.5″ of lean, softening that brutal factory 90° angle . Solid build – CNC-machined spacers (Delrin or aluminum) feel sturdy. No fear of cracking or shifting Everything included – Comes with longer bolts and washers so you don’t have to hunt for hardware Easy install – Took about 45 minutes solo [user experiences], and many say it's “pretty painless” ⚠️ What Could Be Better: Bolt removal is a headache – Factory bolts can be stubborn; breaker bar or impact tools help Seats no longer fold flat – You trade recline for folding capability; something to keep in mind Instruction clarity varies – Most users got by fine, but a few noted lack of detailed instructions . 🔧 Install Notes: Use an impact or good breaker bar to loosen bolts. Doesn’t affect seat folding dramatically—still works, just not flat. ⭐ Final Verdict: If you’re carrying adults or tall kids in the back, this kit actually makes the ride more comfortable. It’s solidly built, easy to install, and affordable. Just go in knowing it alters seat folding and may require some elbow grease on bolts. My rear-seat passengers? They immediately said “this is better.” I'd call that a win.

A must have for kids in the back seat!
It reclines the seat just enough so my kids heads don't flop forward in their car seats. It also allows for a much more comfortable sitting position for adults. I was a little worried about the quality when I ordered because the price was so good. The parts seem like they are really high quality. The spacers are black and are not noticeable. The bolts that come with the kit seem to be really high quality. The install took a little over 30 minutes. I used ratchet straps that I hooked to the rear of the Jeep to hold the seat backs up while loosening the middle set of factory bolts. When installing the spacers and the new bolts in the same location I loosened the ratcheting straps a little bit so the rear holes lines up easily. I used a breaker bar to get all the bolts loose and then a 12 inch ratchet. The instructions said the factory bolts required a 19mm socket but mine needed an 18mm, but I could have missed it in the instruction. Other than that the instruction are great.

Yes its tough getting the bolts out but it can be done with some muscle - end result is worth it
I have a 2016 JKU....here's my overview of the install. I used an impact gun as well as regular socket - no breaker bar. Loosening the 3 bolts in the trunk area - no problem with the impact. The four bolts on the floor in front of the seat came up fairly easily as well - used the impact to loosen then just cranked them with the socket the rest of the way. Now the tricky part - the three bolts holding the back of the seat to the floor. The impact was no help and particularly the passenger side was really really tough to loosen. The angle on the passenger side in particular is really tough - you will need an extender to get at it. It took all the muscle I had and then some to get these off but eventually after trying every possible angle I got them off. Tip - I used the seatbelts to hold the seat up by wrapping them around the bottom of the seat and then wrapping around the headrest. Bungee cords would work as well but you will have to keep these up some way. It was all downhill from there. Placing the spacers was simple going one at a time. Just slip one in, place the bolt, then hand tighten until all are in. Very easy for one person. I had no problem at all lining them up as some other reviewers have stated. I recommend reusing the OEM bolts on the three back small spacers and the supplied bolts for the 4 bolts on the floor (they are a bit longer). I then tightened all the bolts as tight as I possibly could with the socket wrench and was finished. I can definitely tell a difference - much more comfortable seating position. I also like the black plastic as it blends in with the black interior and isn't as obvious as the silver metal would be.
