KRAUS Dishwasher Air Gap in Spot Free All-Brite™ Stainless Steel, KAG-1SFS

This is good value for the money and the color matching with my cross faucets looks good. I don’t know if there’s any rust inside, but the inside of it has different stains, but I think this is due to manufacturing. There is no leaking. The doorbell is good and the quality is good and the fit is good. I would buy again. I just wish that there was a different design than all these funny designs with a little hat on top but overall he gets the job done and it doesn’t look obtrusive. A good buy, little pricey. durability is good

I purchased this to replace my old one as my dishwasher started flooding my kitchen every time i used it. This one matched my old product and it works perfectly. Now all the water goes into the sink. Easy to install if you like working under the sink. Not sure of durability at this point but I’m sure it will out last me

I purchased a new Kraus sink and loved it. I have a dish washer and a garbage disposal which of course needed to move. The air gap came from the previous sink as did the hose. We had a problem as the hose was not long enough for the new position. There was a kink in the hose where the dishwasher runoff would spout out the air gap. Deciding to get a longer house; I also decided to replace the air gap which had a cover that did not match the sink. It took a little effort to install. This air gap has a twist on cover. The problem? There isn’t a piece to keep the air gap in place. If you have to fix a clog which requires the removal of the cover; it will fall though the hole. Annoying. However, the new hose was long enough to solve the kink problem and the back flow runoff has stopped. I like it for matching the sink and the fact it’s a clean look to the way it was installed. I will probably get annoyed if I have to remove it for some reason.

Either I have got a used one or the quality control is very low at Kraus. The inside of the air gap cover is warped and inconsistent. The silicone/rubber shows marks of usage. I expected a better product for the price.

At first looks like an easy install, and has a good steel cap. HOWEVER! The hose sizes required are not posted in the product info, and the larger leg will NOT fit standard dishwasher drain hose step adapters, which go from 1" to 3/4" to 5/8". The small leg fits the 3/4" throat of the universal connector once you trim it down. I have to get some 7/8" heater hose from an auto parts store to finish the connection to my sink drain. Hardware store in my are do not stock any 7/8" hose at all. Either this should be clearly stated in the product info or an appropriate length of hose should be included.

Our dishwasher was improperly installed without an air gap (not required by code in Canada) and the dishwasher waste was connected directly to the garburator. When the garburator sink filled water would back up into the dishwasher and since we never use the dishwasher the waste water would sit and fester and begin to stink. I thought it was the dog who usually sits in front of the dishwasher and admittedly does stink but no it was this waste water. I installed this air gap under the counter so that it is higher than the level that the garburator sink fills to and the problem has been fixed.

Had a plumber install this at the same time as my new Bosch Dishwasher. Couldn't get it to stop spitting water all over the counter. Kraus Customer Service said this was normal. WTF? Had to by pass it all together. The outlet hose barb broke when we removed the hose, so we left it installed. Colour looks nice. Expensive Fisher Price counter decoration.
