Incredible price and Excellent product
My dog hates getting his nails clipped by me. Almost every nail clipper that I've gotten have pinched his nail slightly crushing before cutting through cleanly. Even ones marketed as high grade professional nail clippers have done this. I think the crushing is due to the fact that he has very soft nails With these cllippers, I think I can actually get my dog to be comfortable or at least less fussy about getting his nails clipped! I found tons of recommendations for the Millers forge brand of clippers, and even the vet and groomer recommended them. First, let me say that these required almost no effort to clip my dogs nails. I was able to get my dogs nails clipped in 15 minutes, which is the fastest I've ever been able to do this. He didn't once cry out in pain as if I were killing him, nor did he retract his paw as hard as he could from my grasp. I didn't have to do a sharp and quick cut to get these to close, as I have done with many other brands. Instead these just glided right through the nail, and were incredibly precise so that I was able to clip in small sections. It was almost like shaving off his nail just a little bit. Because the clippers clipped of his nail so cleanly I was able to see that the discarded nail anatomy - hard shell and a fleshy inside. The fleshy inside of his nail just crumbles when it falls out of the hard shell, and so I think this is why previous nail clippers were crushing his nail. Speaking from a physics perspective, I can see these clippers lasting quite a long time and remaining sharp. The design on the blade of the clipper is angled sharply into a thin blade (and it is a very sharp blade). The blades make no noise as they are closed and opened, though I can feel the blades brush against one another. The spring that opens the clippers also makes no noise, and I believe this is because they use a volute spring which I'm also not afraid of getting pinched by. The only issue with the clippers is that the red comfort grip covers slide off while I clip. This isn't a big deal though as they don't slide off much and it didn't make a difference in how the clippers performed. For people who are wondering if these are real Millers Forge Inc clippers, they are. Only the larger Miller's Forge nail clippers are made in Italy (specifically the 727C and 767C styled for larger dogs). I would only recommend these for medium to small dogs. All other Miller's forge nail clippers are made in other places -such as Japan and Taiwan. These 743C clipers are made in Taiwan, and do come with the Miller's Forge lifetime guarantee against manufacturing or worksmanship defects unless abused or left to rust (as stated on the back of the packaging).

BEST Nail Trimmers EVER!
Far and away the best nail trimmers I have ever used! I did a lot of review reading and there were (aren’t there always) negative reviews and even more good reviews. I was worried with how cheap they are but at the same time, they are cheap, so why not give them a try. All of the reviews that say they are super sharp are right! There absolutely none of the scary snapping that happens with heavier and less sharp trimmers in the pliers style or the guillotine style. These are so sharp that even my thick nailed dog who has always been terrified of nail trims didn’t flinch until I accidentally nicked the second to the last nail. Even after that, he gave me his foot right back for that last nail. He had really long nails when we got him as a rescue with really long quicks and these worked so well that I was able to shave off nail at multiple angles around the quick so that we might actually be able to shorten them up finally! Some people complained that the latch would flip and cause the clippers to lock while in use. Yes, that happens if you hold them so that gravity pulls it down into position, but simply change your position or, if you are comfortable not using the guard, turn them over. Problem solved. The guard is easy to move and if you really need it, check that it is in place before trimming the next nail, but not so easy to move that it falls down. These are very slim and easy to hold. Since they are so sharp, there was no problem with them cutting into my hand when I squeezed. I have tried so many different nail clippers and had even resorted to using nail files (a lot of them!) on the first dog I mentioned. His nails are so hard that even low grit files wore out after just 2 or 3 nails. The clippers glided right through without giving him that squeezing feeling like a lot of plier style trimmers do. All in all, I could not recommend these more over every other nail trimmers I have tried over the last 30 years. These are my favorite! I think I might even buy a pair for my mother in law who has several dogs and one with even thicker nails than ours.

Excellent Small Clippers for Big Dogs
I am very happy with these little clippers. They are significantly sharper, and more effective than two other brands I have tried (one a well-known name brand from Walmart). I have been using these for 11 months to trim the nails of my two large, 90 lb. Irish Setters. Other clippers I tried were so dull and harsh cutting that it upset my dogs and caused clipping to be a very stressful situation (and they cost significantly more!). With these Miller’s Forge clippers the big red boys are much more relaxed - I won’t go so far as to say they now enjoy being clipped, but with a few cheese treats we get the job done in about ten minutes with little fuss. The only negative I can think of is that you need to hold these the right side up, otherwise the safety lock will slide into place in the middle of your cutting session. This isn’t a big deal, if this happens just rotate the clippers 180 degrees and you’ll be able to clip away without further problems. Also, for what it’s worth, I use these with the safety depth setting piece rotated out of the way so I can better see what I’m doing. Don’t let the low price fool you - these are very good clippers! P.S. If, like me, you occasionally get too carried away and draw blood, you may wish to invest in a small jar of Cardinal Laboratories Styptic Powder. I have only had to use it once — yeah- i’m that good :-) — but I was very impressed with how quickly it stopped a gushing flow of blood. You don’t need much, a 1.5 ounce container should last you a long time.

Fantastic clippers. Super sharp and cuts through nails without much pressure. Only issue is that the rubber grips can sometimes slip a little but not enough of an issue to put me off.

I have one large dog who hates her nails being cut, and a slightly smaller dog with extremely hard nails. These clippers worked amazingly on both dogs. They cut silently with complete ease, and no cracking or splintering of the nails. You can take off paper thin slivers, or large pieces. Small, light, and easy to handle, but amazingly sharp and effective.
