World Traveler Multipurpose Backpack 16-Inch, Teal Trim Zebra, One Size

School backpacks can be tough to find after September, and they can be pricey once you do find them. My overachiever daughter went through three cutesy licensed retail packs during her first grade year, carrying her assortment of books, binders, water bottles, and the occasional lunch. For second grade, I set out to find something that could stand up to her abuse on a budget, since she'd want a new one after one school year. Oh yeah, and it had to have "style." This little number has definitely fit the bill. It has plenty of room for her daily provisions, and, now well past the halfway point of the year, when she had already burned through her second pack last year, this one is still going strong. The outer fabric layer is still intact, and all seams are still solid. The inner lining is only starting to thin out, but it should easily make it to June. Last month the zipper pull fell off in her hand. She saved it and gave it to me. I found that the loop it attaches to had opened just enough to let it out. I reattached and tightened it without a problem in seconds. Overall, I'm happy, and she's happy. Good purchase.

It's been so hard trying to look for my daughter a backpack and I don't have time to go shopping because of my work. Thank goodness Amazon has such a great variety and when I stumbled upon the world traveler back packs I was hooked! They are all so super cute! So many choices it was hard to choose which one but we settled on this one. I paid extra for one day shipping instead of using my prime because I wanted her to have it over the weekend before going back to school. It was time to end character backpacks :( They grow up so fast! The backpack arrived as promised and actually pretty quick! I ordered it Friday evening and got it Saturday at 11am! It was packaged fine nothing fancy. I'll have pictures. It has a little bit of a smell like being in storage nothing bad. The only thing I don't like is the lining on the inside is very cheap material like thin plastic almost like plastic bag but a little sturdier like a cheap rain coat. Still for the price I paid, I'm not upset about it! As long as it lasts the year I'll be fine because my kid is not easy on her stuff...you know how kids are! I'm sure I'll be purchasing from them again! Hopefully before schoo starts so I can get it monogrammed! Hope this helps! I'm very big at ready product reviews!

I bought this for my 6 y.o. daughter for school. The black backpack with the colored peace signs. The backpack was delivered early. The good things about this bag...it is cute and looks nice. It is exactly as described and as appears on site. It seems to be of good sturdy quality. The price is also very reasonable for such a sturdy backpack. Will see if it holds up. Has many spaces , front pocket and mesh sides.The good or bad (depending on your preference)... The backpack is very large, which I don't mind since you have ample room for everything without stuffing it to the max. This bag is a bit big for my little 6 y.o., but she doesn't mind and she will grow into it. I figure, better big than too small. It also states the dimensions, so you can't complain. If you are looking for a smaller bag, this one is not for you.Last....my only bad......the odor. I read about this in other reviews and chose to ignore, thinking they were probably exaggerating and/or just difficult to please. They were right. The odor has a very strong smell of chemicals. It also spreads on things that it comes into contact with, although these things stop smelling quickly after being removed from the vicinity of the bag. I left this bag by a window for days, I sprayed it with Febreez, I wiped it down with a Clorox wipe, and left fabric softeners inside, but the odor is still there. I didnt want to wash it in fear i would run the dyes together or make the bag fade. My daughter loves the smell, I hate it, but regardless, it can't be the greatest to inhale. I sure do hope the smell is not a danger or risk to those who inhale it. Also wonder how many people asked where the smell was coming from. Not sure how this smell could be avoided, but the smell needs to be fixed, as i think it will cause many to return the item. It has not deterred me from keeping the bag because my daughter is happy with it, I just hope me allowing her to keep it is not risking her health. I am counting on that the company and Amazon are not allowing a toxic item to be sold, so i let her make the decision since she's the one who has to deal with it. The smell has decreased a bit, but is still noticeable after more than 3 weeks of being opened. Overall I would not use this bag for myself because I find the smell bothersome, but I would buy it again for my daughter since she loves it. Aside from the smell, it serves it's purpose and is very flattering. Would buy again in the hope that the smell was absent, but would still be a bit concerned of any health risks from the smell. Design, quality, price and my daughter's opinion won over the smell this time.Update 11/10/14: My daughter is using this backpack again this year and after using it all of last year, it still looks absolutely brand new. No rips, stains, fading, blending. Zippers work great. Very pleased with quality and my daughter still loves it. THE SMELL IS GONE. Apparently it smelled like that because of a flame retardant that was sprayed on the bag. The smell slowly faded and was not as noticeable a few months later.

This is GREAT!! Arrived on time! Very pleased with this!!! Going on a cruise this summer and needed new luggage, so had to have Houndstooth!!!! I also wanted a backpack that I could carry with me off of the ship so I wouldn't have to tote a lot of things in my hands! This is perfect! Matches my luggage perfectly! Has a lot of space. Sturdy material. Definitely worth the price!! I cannot wait to use it!!!!

Wanted to find a different backpack for my daughter that half the school wouldn't have. She loves the design. School hasn't started yet so haven't gotten to test it out with books yet but seems strong. Has plenty of pockets and side bottle holder which is great. She's 9 going into 4th grade and it seems like a great size for her and even older kids as well, probably too large for younger kids.

I read other reviews before buying this backpack and did see comments about its bad smell, but I figured that these people were either highly sensitive or had just gotten a "bad batch" or something. Big mistake. This backpack truly has an unbelievably awful, toxic smell that does not go away even if you air it outside for days or wash it. The smell is also incredibly contagious -- for example, if you touch the backpack your hands will reek, and anything inside the backpack (towels, sun lotion -- yes, even the bottle of sun lotion - and food) all smell like the backpack even if they've only been inside for a short time.Believe the reviews. This backpack is affordable and otherwise seems well made (it's sturdy, colorful, etc) but it's NOT WORTH IT.
