Schutt Sports Varsity Ventilated Football Rib Protector

This was great protection for the season. The only thing is that my son is 6'3 and 220 lbs and this was still a loose fit. We ended up making adjustments to it. We cut the Velcro shorter and re/attached to get this to a snug fit. The Velcro was too long.

Our last one wore out over seven years. So I had to get my son a new one for his last year of youth football before moving onto high school. It should last for my youngest to use for a while. Came on time, great product. My son couldn’t live without it. Helped him take home a championship trophy.

Purchased for my 17 year old son. He is 5ft 11 inches 170 pounds. He was using a youth size and it recently broke. As a senior in high school I wanted something a bit stronger. Those boys hit each other hard. This was very strong and durable. The problem we had was it is a bit larger than he was used to. He did not like how bulky it was. As a mother, I felt that is a great thing except as a running back, he did not like it. I am storing it away for my younger son because he will not wear it. I had to purchase another youth size. This is not for a child. It is intended for grown men or larger sizes.

The Schutt rib protector did a great job protecting my son's ribs and abdomen during the season. It has good layered protection with the plastic shell and padding. Just be aware that it will probably only last one season on the line in high school football. The padding was tearing off in spots where it met the plastic and several of the metal fasteners were tearing out but it did it's job. That being said, I will be buying another one for him next year for peace of mind.

My son had gotten injured during a game. Bruised abdominal wall. He feels confident and comfortable in the rib protector. Only complaint is I had to re adjust the strap by moving the Velcro

I purchased this for my son after he suffered a rib contusion. He plays high school football and is on the varsity team. This has helped keep his ribs protected and given me some peace of mind. For reference he is 6’1”, 136 lbs. and I purchased a medium.

My kid is a receiver in high school and likes this rib protector. The hard plastic gives a lot more protection than the undershirts with the bubble padding. It doesn't seem to get in the way of making catches either. Very large for their size. My 185 lb. kid wears a men's small. Medium was too big

Purchased this for our two young sons (9 & 12) who started playing tackle football for the first time this year. Really isn't necessary to bolt it to the pads as eventually the screws can come loose and fall off. Our boys just used the shoulder straps and slipped it on before they put on their pads. Glad that we bought these as they took & gave some pretty big hits this season - worth the money!

excellent quality but too large for my tall thin defensive corner. He ended up tightening past the max and taping the waist belt which made getting in and out difficult. ended not using product and donating it to the team for a larger player
