White's Woods Purpleheart Lumber 3/4" x 4" x 12"

Lovely pieces of wood, good cut quality, very little warping if any and the color is spot on beautiful! I made my sister a cutting board out of these pieces, the size was just right. If you are a wood working and enjoy the hobby its easy of use to turn these into works of are will be a simple project and you will get some beautiful results!

Too expensive but good product

Absolutely beautiful product!

This is my first time ordering Purple Heart wood. 1) Bubble mailer wasn’t sufficient for corners of wood, caused an indent on the corner of one piece and splintering on another corner. I’d recommend this seller use cardboard boxes, shrink wrap the pieces together for better protection, and use a paper filler for the rest of the box to prevent jostling. 2) S4S is great overall. I didn’t know Purple Heart was so splintery (is that even a word?). 3) Now I know what Purple Heart smells like...not the most pleasant, but not the sellers fault, it’s the nature of the wood. 4) Wood packed tight in bubble mailer to prevent jostling, which is great. Overall, seller did a good job, just needs better packaging to prevent the issues I’ve mentioned and provided pictures in my review.

Use this wood to accent walnut and maple (sandwiched between two maple cuts). It stains a little darker than I’d like using wood conditioner, and comes across more burgundy than purple.

The two pieces I received came in excellent condition. I wanted to use these for a couple purposes, as well as to just keep on hand for future projects. I plan on milling part of one for splines on a mitered joint for color contrast and strength. I plan on also making another one into pen blank sizes, and with the cost of the boards compared to prepared pen blanks to buy, these are a really good deal. I'm sure I'll find even more projects to integrate the purpleheart into as well.

I used my cnc router to make a heart pendant out of this. It turned out great. Cuts nice and a beautiful purple all the way through. When cutting it turns to a grey shade, but the purple comes back. Really amazing. I will be getting more in the future
