Great for beginners
I've been wanting a Dremel for a long time now, even though I only have a need for one every ten years or so. While doing some repairs on some old furniture, which I had patched with some moldable plastic, I found that I needed to sand and shape the patches I had made. Finally I couldn't find any reason not to get one. I chose the least expensive model I could find, which was this one.Putting the attachments on was a bit of a struggle with the little included wrench but not bad once I figured out how to use it. Fortunately the wrench has a hole in the middle so I can tie it to the cord to prevent losing it.Having never used a Dremel before, I found that controlling exactly what the spinning grinding tip did, and making it work to get exactly the shape I wanted, was tricky. And yet it was fun! This is fairly lightweight and that little tip turns faster than I thought it would, 35,000 rpms to be exact, so that I merely had to lightly touch the tip to the surface I was shaping and it would smooth and flatten it. One false move such as touching the wrong spot on the cabinet I was working on and I had a new spot to repair. Now I'm going to be looking around for more projects to use this amazing tool on. I especially can't wait to try out the tiny saw attachment.I may exchange this for a higher priced model to get variable speeds and an easier way to attach the tips, although this isn't any problem after using it a few times to get the hang of it.Also have some compressed air handy after you use this to blow the dust you have made out of the large side vents, because you definitely don't want that dust to stay around those vents and get inside where the motor is. Some eye goggles are also a good idea as the dust this creates goes everywhere including in your eyes. This is a very good inexpensive Dremel but if you can justify it I recommend you get a more high end model for easier tip attachement and variable speeds.

Works exactly as advertised, definitely recommend.
I bought this Dremel rotary tool to use with resin, wood, stone and glass (jewellery making). It works very well, as advertised, came with all its accessories. A few things to mention that may be useful to people looking at buying this:- it has one speed only (as advertised) but it's sort of in between fast and slow haha. For example, I bought this to replace my dremel minimite 750 which had 2 speeds and this one I would say is closer to the fast than the slow. Perfect for my purposes, but just wanted to mention this.- for people who are looking at buying this for pets nails (or your own), you can definitely use this for that, just keep in mind that due to its speed, it sands down stuff REALLY fast, so you have to know what you're doing. I accidentally sanded down some of my own nails while holding some pieces to be sanded lol and it's totally fine.- it is fairly noisy, much louder than the dremel minimite, but workable. If you are using it for pets, this is REALLY IMPORTANT as I feel it would scare the living daylights out of any pet I've ever owned, so bear this in mind if your pet is easily startled by noise!!- the cutting accessory I got in the package shattered in 5 small pieces during use, after I cut 2 small thin resin pieces (so soft material). So it must have been defective or something.- it is corded, 6ft long (as advertised).- I am temporarily living in Europe but plan to use this back in the States so I bought it, but FYI this is 110-120V, 50-60 Hz. I mention this because this is how it's advertised on Amazon, but the box it comes in says only 60Hz. You have to use a step down transformer anywhere with 220V obviously, but you can use it!

Replacement for the exact same tool. One speed. Cuts metal and wood.
I bought this to replace the exact same tool. I had the other one for years. I am guessing the first one lasted about 10-12 years or so. It finally started making some noise and vibrating real hard. I looked for parts and took it apart then found the new one for a reasonable price with accessories and decided that was less hassle.I use mine for cutting wood when doing interior trim work. I use it even more on metal though. I work on cars and have used it to cut bolt heads off, cut a flat into a fastener that was stripped. (like a torx head screw for example) I have used it cut off spark plug boot protectors that were rusted and distorted. I recently cut a part off an aluminum ladder that was in the way. (that got hot but wasn't red to remind me, I got a small burn)I got the quick connect part for it and it is easier. I also got the cut off wheels that you snap/turn in place. Both of these accessories make my life easier.I though about getting the fancy wireless one. I thought about getting one with more speeds. I have always had this one and it worked out fine for my purposes. I guess those other ones don't really bring anything to the table that I really needed. (they are bigger and at times this one was bulky enough that I wish it were thinner)The free accessories are nice. I will eventually use them.

Loud
This is much louder than I expected it to be, and tends to shake if I tighten the fittings too tight or too loose on it. Otherwise it was inexpensive and serves its purpose.
