High Quality EPA Omega-3 Supplement

Easy to swallow with no fishy aftertaste
My last bloodwork included triglycerides and cholesterol and both were elevated. My family has a history of elevated cholesterol. From what I've read, it's best to stay away from DHA if your cholesterol or triglycerides are elevated. I am firmly against statin drugs, too. There are some prescription drugs that contain fish oil, but I decided to try OTC. I found this that got really good reviews. I have not yet gotten my cholesterol tested, so I can't say if it worked for that yet, or not, but it has helped with my skin and hair. Best of all, it's easy to swallow and doesn't have any fishy aftertaste. ETA: The most valuable result from this fish oil that I have seen is the relief from my chronic dry eyes and blepharitis! In November, I developed a disgusting stye and pink eye in my right eye. The pink eye went away with medication but the stye stuck around because my Meibomian glands were clogged. On a whim, I took this fish oil before I had an appointment for a steroid shot to relieve the stye for good. I did not want the shot so I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that the stye went away! I stopped taking it for about a week recently and the stye started reforming. Once I started taking the fish oil again, the stye immediately went away.

Trust your heart
Exceptional quality exceptionally pure EPA only. This is a good non-pharmaceutical replacement for the pharmaceutical known as Vascepa which was studied and used in two clinical trials, the REDUCE-IT trial and the EVAPORATE trial. When you consider its use, bear in mind that it is not regulated to pharmaceutical standards but for non-prescription purposes it is very good for heart health.

Not fishy
Several years ago I became concerned about my triglyceride levels. After seeing information in an ad on my doctor's office wall about for a very expensive prescription form of pharmaceutical grade fish oil (which is supposed to help lower triglycerides) I sought information about the product to see what its ingredients were. My literature search pointed out that purified EPA, the fraction of fish oil that is the most beneficial in lowering triglycerides, was the main ingredient. During the literature search I also found out that fish oil contained mercury that was present in the fish before processing and concentration. The pharmaceutical grade fish oil is steam distilled to remove the mercury. I compared the pharmaceutical grade fish oil with numerous other OTC fish oils for sale. OmegaVia EPA 500 was the one that seemed to most closely resemble the expensive pharmaceutical oil in its properties and claimed positive benefits. I can't claim from a scientific basis that OmegaVia has led to a lowering of my triglycerides but they have gone down to a safe level. I was advised by my doctor to reduce or cut out red meat in my diet, and to do more aerobic exercise, both of which may have positively affected my triglyceride levels. However, I am continuing to take OmegiaVia EPA 500 because research suggests the EPA form of fish oil may have positive benefits to mental health and joint health, and because it is much cheaper than the pharmaceutic brand with similar ingredients.

Best value for my money
As most supplementation begins, my physician recommended a pharmaceutical fish oil product due to my cholesterol issues. As any good consumer, my research began in earnest online and at the market. Fortunately a helpful comprehensive review of over the counter and pharma grade fish oils on Amazon assisted my research with the important information such as potency, price, and quality. After confirming most of the important details, IFOS rating, price, and potency, I decided to try this product for myself. Considering OmegaVia is less expensive and more potent than other leading brands (pharma included!) I can say that any product would be hard pressed to compete with the overall offering of OmegaVia EPA 500. The transaction with OmegaVia was great and I received the product just 2 days after ordering. Upon taking the product I was very pleased to experience - NO fish smell when opening the bottle, NO fishy burp after consuming the recommended dosage (which is common with other products), and as a welcomed bonus, the size of the soft gel is fraction of other fish oil pills and is easy to swallow too :). Not to mention that this product is not only rated higher than the Pharma products by an unbiased 3rd party, but it is less expensive as well. While quality is most important me, price and performance are the icing on the cake. Figure out what is important to you and do your research as there is no need to pay more for similar or inferior products on the market. Also, worth noting - as part of my research I had a couple questions so I contacted the manufacturer through the OmegaVia web site. The company responded to me right away and went above and beyond the call of duty by answering all of my questions very thoughtfully. For my money, I give this company and product my highest recommendation - I can wait to check my cholesterol numbers :)!
