Creating Light

I am very happy to have received this book in prefect condition and in a timely manner. I wish there were more vol. to his collection. Easch book in his set is well worth the money. Jerry Yarnell is a great teacher.

I've always had raw talent and have tried ways to learn how to express what's inside. Donna Dewberry had shortcut tricks for decorative painting as did Bob Ross for landscapes but I wanted to really learn the real reasons why one does what to create your own paintings. I even took those wine and paint parties to get comfortable putting brush to canvas and finishing something, but no whys and hows. Jerry is the first to explain it in an easy to do way. The "fine art school" lessons I wanted in a price I can afford. After this I hope to evolve to seriously painting and some real art school workshops. I don't want the degree, I just want to paint. I know how snobby the art world is, like if you don't have a degree, you are only OK. That's their narrow problem. All the great old world artists ever had "degrees". They need to get over it but If you want to really start learning the why's and how's, Jerry Yarnell's stuff is a great start. There are three JY companies one buys from-His, and another guy in Florida, who (bought out his brother's shares-family squabble) has two JY companies selling his products-Cheaper prices.

This is another volume in my collection of Yarnell painting books. I learn something new from each one. They have been a great help to me in learning this wonderful hobby. I recommend them all to anyone who wants to take up painting.

This book arrived in exactly the condition the seller stated. It was used but for one little bent corner it is in perfect condition. Would recommend this seller for their honesty, at least with this book.

Jerry Yarnell is of course a great teacher, and I would recomment his set of 10 instruction books to all. Of course much of the things he teaches can be applied to other mediums.

This was a great book however it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Not my style of painting. Was hoping for something that would 'speak' to me and motivate me to paint. Probably going to sell it.

A very nice book. Helpful for the beginner to intermediate painter. Step by step instructions. Glad to have a copy.
