Removes mats!
This is an amazing tool that really works well to get out and prevent mats. Every doodle owner should have this! My groomer was so surprised that my longer haired goldendoodles didn’t have a single mat. Even my one dog that hates brushing lets me use this on him! Just be careful to not touch the blades since they are sharp!

Great for my Bernadoodle
Using for a few months now and it works well, however, BE CAREFUL. It is VERY sharp, and I sliced the palm of my hand left hand (using it with my right hand). If you use it carefully, it does a great job getting through matted fur. I have a Bernadoodle that is more poodle, and his fur mats very easily. If I don't brush and comb him every day (for at least an hour) he starts getting matts. This gets through them easily enough....just be careful....for your self and your dog. This is made for right handed people, fyi.

Quickly removes mats.
I have a miniature schnauzer with hair that mats very easily, and he has very sensitive or ticklish skin and feet, and hates to be brushed. This comb works great at quickly removing mats, with very few strokes, tugs, and little pulling. He tolerates it better than any other brush or comb I've tried.

3.5 to 4 Stars--Good to use, needs alignment maintenance
I used the The Safari De-Matting comb in conjunction with the FURminator to remove matted hair and knots in my English Cocker Spaniel's coat. It worked reasonably well, but the blades went out of alignment after 1 use--admittedly, the amount of matting was excessive and difficult to get through. I also used the JW Pet Company GripSoft Dematting Rake Dog Brush briefly and found that the JW is a solid product compared to the Safari. A few points of comparison: Safari vs. (JW) The Safari has 9 (10) blades spanning 4 cms or 1.58 inches (6 cms or 2.38 inches), blade thickness approximately 0.5 mm (1 mm), gap between blades: 5 mm or about 0.2 inch (6 mm or about 0.24 inch). In the first session of de-matting for my Cocker Spaniel--Soul, I used this in preference to the JW as it looked easier to handle and not as sharp bladed as the JW. However, both devices have sharp blades and need to be handled with care. The downside of this otherwise 4 star product is that the blades got pushed out of alignment by about 5.5 mm from the horizontal after the first dematting session. The blades are fixed to a central spine with steel spacers locked in by a single hex nut. The gripping of these was not adequate to handle the force of being pulled through the mats. Other than that this is a serviceable device with the blades needing alignment adjustment from time to time. (I do not know the ease or otherwise of such a procedure at this time.) I did a detailed review of 3 best tools/techniques for de-matting pet hair in my review of the FURminator, (order fulfilled by Amazon). There is a confusion and profusion of suppliers of the Furminator--many supplying the same model but at very different prices--I chose a product listing by 'Furminator', where the order was sold by a supplier other than Furminator, but fulfilled by Amazon. (You can see my review of the product and description for the Furminator reviewed, by clicking on the 'see all my reviews' link next to my name above.) The JW Gripsoft De-matting Rake/Safari and the Furminator make a good combination for pet grooming. A rotating steel pin comb and bristle brush and slicker brush would complete most coat grooming needs. (I have just ordered a Master Grooming Tools Steel Teeth Pet Rotating Pin Comb, Medium and Coarse, 7-1/2-Inch . )

Works great for an Aussiedoodle
This works great for an Aussiedoodle. Curl and wavy hair. Cuts through the knots and better than a comb.

Matting be gone !
I’ve had this since 2019 I have three Pomeranians all of which have had some type of matting behind ears on their body. It is very sharp, so just be careful, but this never loses its sharpness I mean whatever Matting your pet has with some patience and being gentle you just kind of cut at it. It will come out. This tool is very effective and I’ve learned this from my former groomer now so I groom my dogs myself I will highly recommend this is a great deal. Will last you for a very long time keep it dry and it stays sharp .

A 'Must have' for Golden Retrievers
Life changer for Golden Retriever owners. This gets the burrs and foxtails out of the undercoat and sensitive places without a fight, no growls, no shying away. My dogs live on a farm and get into the river bottom daily. This removes Cockle Burrs, Houndstongue, and foxtails easily. For years I would brush and pick them out. Then I just started cutting them out with clippers and sissors leaving my dogs looking like a patchwork quilt. With the de-matting comb I simply work the points in behind the burr and gently work the comb through the fur. Amazing. What used to take hours is done in minutes! I carry it with me on walks and while hunting. I bought three as Christmas gifts for my friends with Griffons. Quality product. Nice handle. Stainless steel teeth. It comes with a protective cover for the sharpo teeth. Keep the cover so you can carry the comb with you.

Works well
The best de-matting comb I've used. It's very sharp so you need to be careful not to cut you or your pet.

Great for getting matts and tangles out before they get too deep.

When I got my 10-lbs goldendoodle, he was quite matted. This little tool helped a lot with his nodes, but you have to be super light-touch and careful with the blades. It ended up being much better than trying to comb through his fur with a regular comb and it was pain free for him. Win-win!
