Very nice phone, functional and durable
I've had the Yealink T22P for a couple years and that has served me well. When I needed another SIP phone I decided to go with the latest and greatest Yealink, this Ultra-Elegant model. After a few days use, I feel the phone is fine although not quite up to the Ultra-Elegant level of expectations. Here are my main observations: (1) Setup was immediate based on prior knowledge of my VoIP provider's setup on the T22P. The web config interfaces of the two models are nearly identical, differing only where the T48G feature set supersedes. And I was even able to export the contact list from the T22P and import it into the T48G. (2) The T48G touchscreen, its major unique feature over all other voice Yealinks, is slightly reluctant. A good intentional touch is required to guarantee a response. Sometimes I touch a button, its color changes (normally indicating the touch was detected), yet nothing else happens. The reluctance of the touchscreen is just slightly shy of irritating. (3) The touch GUI design itself is slightly antique, i.e. no movements or gestures are used. You just touch buttons or icons. It is an improvement over physical buttons with adjacent softkey labels on a non-touch screen, but still . . . (4) The supplied stand (for desktop use) appears slightly flimsy. It consists of a single flat plastic piece that clips into two slots molded into the bottom of the phone. Clipped into place, the stand angles out 90-degrees from the phone bottom. The phone then rests on two points of the flat plastic piece and two small pads on the front-bottom of the phone proper. It's begging for something or someone to press too hard on the top of the phone and break off the clips on the flat plastic piece. The much less expensive Yealink T22P, on the other hand, comes with a sturdy 3-dimensional stand incorporating a solid-filled strut structure and sits on four large rubberized pads. Now that's a stand! In summary, the T48G is still a nice phone with good value for price. If it holds up like the T22P has then I'll be quite happy. But my usage so far doesn't quite meet the Ultra-Elegant expectations. Update on December 30, 2019: After four years of use, the phone has held up well - still looks and functions like new. Highly recommended: in actual usage the stand has not been a problem and even the touchscreen becomes a non-issue.

Great in all respects....except the EXCESSIVE one-way latency
I LOVE the interface. The touchscreen is great. The buttons and layout are all very pleasing. The handset, the speakerphone, all of it is great..... But there is a bug that has persisted for the year I have owned this thing. Audio going out of the t48g does so at latency levels comparable to other phones, which is almost instant (less than 100ms). However, audio going TO the t48g has latency between 300ms and 600ms!!! That is over half a second in some cases! In rare instances I tested latency added just by this phone at as little as 100ms, but usually it's several times that. I have played with every blasted setting on this phone. I have upgraded firmware galore. Note this is not "systemic" latency inherent to a SIP trunk or our networks, this is latency added only by this phone. We have done hundreds of tests because I refused to believe that one-way of the audio could be so low, but it is debilitating to a conversation to use this phone. This is REALLY sad. We use 3cx, but I have tested other pbx's and other sip trunk providers with the myriad of phones I have in my testing environment, I back out the systemic latency and am left over and over again with ridiculous latency on one-way audio of this t48g. It is really a shame because this would be a GREAT phone otherwise...

It looks nice, but doesn't work with Skype for Business, and may be a huge security liability.
Does not work with "Skype for Business". I installed the latest firmware and the firmware alleged to work with SFB (35.8.0.34) and neither worked. The .34 firmware required a "license" to activate with SFB. Accordingly, I reached out to Yealink for a license and have been put in the run around for 24 hours. Now they are saying that the guy in charge of issuing licenses is not in China right now(!). Why do they need to issue a license? The whole set up seems like a huge security issue. They want me to (1) tell them who i am, who i work for and what industry i work for, (2) enter my O365 credentials into their machine, (3) provide the MAC address to them, and (4) speak client secrets into their machine. That's crazy! Just give me a phone that works out of the box and doesn't require so much interaction with China!

100% Chinese High Tech , good price, good quality, no regrets
This phone is gorgeous! The screen is so huge that is a pleasure to make phone calls, browse the directory, search for a name, you name it. You can add your own pics as a wallpaper. Yealink: Can you guys program this phone to rotate the pics after some hours? How about every 24 hours? The G-722 Wide-band(50 to 7000 hertz) codec which is installed on this phone provides you with a crispy sound. The touch screen is very responsive, this was a question I had. How responsive is the touch screen? I read, Oh no, is kinda of sluggish, bla bla! That is not the case. It has 29 soft-key that can be programmed as a speed-dial. I love the flexibility and very easy of putting a call on hold or transfer it to my cell. 100% Chinese High Tech , good price, good quality, no regrets. If you dont have a LAN switch that provides PoE, you will need an external 5V power supply. You can get around with a PoE injector. I will consider this phone for the CEO's desk.

This unit does not work with Skype, do not include charger and has no support if any thing goes wrong and no firmware updates this is what the Yealing replayed "Having checked on our systems this unit was originally supplied though a German provider. As we are Yealink UK we are unable to assist with any support requests, additionally this unit would not be covered by the Yealink UK lifetime warranty and so we would be able to assist with any warranty issue going forward. Rob Mitchell Yealink Distribution Account Manager " For Uk use, this item is unusable.
