Yikes ... the Price is Like a Waking Nightmare, but Only Until You See the Results it Produces
This ink is expensive. Actually, not as much as you might think because the are 12--count 'em--12 ink cartridges in this set to feed Canon’s amazing professional printers. And the amount of ink in each cartridge is much more than many other printers. So, in a certain way, this ink is *technically* not as expensive as it seems (i.e., cost per ml). But, the truth also is, if you are printing on a professional printer with 12-color ink, it IS going to cost a fair amount. Couple that with the oversized photos you can print with a professional printer (which uses up more ink because of the number of sq inches on each sheet of paper), and with the best paper moving toward the two-dollars-per-page point: OUCH! But these Canon inks, when used with Canon's best papers, or “Breathing Colors'” best papers (or their canvases), these inks really perform. The pure quality of the ink, the intensity of the colors, the rated lifespan, and the laydown on paper (particularly the metallic papers) really display this ink's mettle. There are some things we can skimp on, but when it comes to printing medium- or large-scale images of our best photographs, Canon is a leader (both in inks and paper). The real rating is TWELVE Stars (one for each ink color in the box), but there is no doubt this is a Five-Star product.

Spendy but worth it
Yes, a set of tanks for the PRO-1000 is expensive! That said, they produce beautiful, flawless art prints and do last quite a while. Make sure you pick up a maintenance cart and an extra chroma cart!

Great ink, but definitely spendy!
Of course, since there are 12 of them, it is a bit of sticker shock to buy all at once. It's still the bust way to purchase, and they do last me a long time, so hard to complain (although I guess I just did). Great color, creating great images!

Good ink but expensive
This is the only ink I would use for anything important. I just wish it was cheaper!

Expensive but worth it
It’s cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else and the ink lasts a while, great investment and worth the price

Don’t Need it Yet
I was disappointed when my printer started to notify me that I have to replace the ink cartridges as these are expensive and I hoped would last longer. However, I haven’t had to replace the cartridges yet as my printer is still printing beautifully with the remaining ink. So I’m quite happy that although I went ahead and purchased the replacement cartridges, I have t had to use them just yet.
