The dream essentials "escape" is the most comfortable, effective sleep mask around, to me. But it's a little bulky to stick in a pocket on a plane, and it's a bit more expensive.This mask is unstructured; there's no firm inside giving it a "shape" it wishes to remain in. Great for folding it up and sticking it in a tiny pocket, but when you wear it, it can move around and fold up.I like the dual straps, can put one above and one below the ear, but the material is a bit scratchy. The mask does not have to be fitted tightly to provide complete darkness.And that's the reason I have to give a somewhat-imperfect product a five-star rating. The light blockage around the nose is about the best I've found in any sleep mask ever. And the cloth lining and cover are quite soft and pleasant.This is one of those masks that somehow end up on the bed in the morning, not on my eyes. But it is great for naps or travel, and the low price makes it certainly the best offering in it's price range, and competitive to higher-priced options.I'd love to see a more gentle, higher-quality straps used on it, but that's the only real minus I can point to.Excellent for side sleepers.Possibly the best light blocking (even with head movement) of any sleep mask I've wornThe mask can rub against the eyelids, I suspect that's why I take it off if worn overnight.It looks very well-made and aside from the chintzy straps, it's both a good design and quality production.Hey, dream essentials? put this nose pad on the "escape" mask, and I'll buy one in every color!

It's large and has independent double straps from the top and bottom sides of the mask. It's also very soft, and stays pretty cool thanks to the silk in it. The really nice touch is the "nose guard" portion, which has an extra layer that folds inward along the nose to help close off the angle most sleep masks let light in through.I've had other silk sleep masks before, and eventually the elastic starts going in the band. They're usually larger elastic straps that don't adjust as much as they probably should. Wrapping it around my head always had the edge of the elastic band resting right on the top of where my ears connect to my head, and for someone sensitive it could easily cause discomfort. This mask has two narrow straps though and doesn't suffer from the same problem. It's a bit larger in height, so it covers further up your forehead, but that allows it to have structure to place a thin strap at the top of the outside edges, and a second thing strap at the bottom of the outside edges. Each of the straps is independently adjustable, which lets me put one well above my ears, and the other well below. It stays in place much better as a toss and turn through the night, generally staying in place until I wake up in the morning and take it off. Compared to others that would always end up on the floor or in the blanket somewhere by halfway through the night, that's amazing.

This is my second one of these silk eye masks, and I couldn’t be happier with it. The 2 straps — one for below the ears and one above — keep it in place while I sleep; and the straps are independently adjustable, so each can be tightened in small increments when they inevitably stretch. I’ve been wearing the 1st one nightly for a loong time, and the straps still have plenty of room to tighten when needed. The mask is very soft and comfortable — and not hot — and it keeps all the light out! This last is very important because i’ve Had a number of masks over time, and none has been so comfortable or done such a good job. It’s important to note that I have a bit of a “shnozz” with a high bridge; and masks without such a high cut for the nose don’t fit me closely and therefore don’t block all the light. One possible minus might be that, because the mask fits so closely, if you have long thick eyelashes, it might feel weird to not be able to open your eyes with the mask on. This is not a problem for me.
