First of all, the timing of the delivery of this could not have been more perfect. It was a pleasant surprise to have them delivered as I was making breakfast this morning. I ended up having them for a morning snack. While the smell is rather pungent, the taste & texture either straight from the bag, or after briefly warming them in my convection oven were amazing. I had to consciously stop myself from consuming the entire bag.

If eaten as is it is fishy and yuk :(. Roast it over open fire on stove or grill with tong over a very short time. You’ll figure it out. It will taste sweet and salty. Cut it up for jerky like snack.

This has always been one of my favorite snacks, but after trying the most recent batch I ordered, I felt so upset that I’m leaving my first-ever Amazon review. I’m originally from Korea, where I grew up loving this snack since I was a child. I’ve missed that taste so much since moving to the U.S., so when I discovered this brand on Amazon a couple of years ago, I was thrilled! I ordered it regularly and it always made me happy. In fact, I had to hold back from ordering too often because I would eat so much of it at once. Recently, I couldn’t resist and ordered four packs again. But what happened?! The taste has completely changed, and all I can taste now is sugar! It’s become so sweet that it’s almost inedible. On top of that, it leaves my mouth feeling irritated after just a few bites, making it an incredibly unpleasant experience. I’m really disappointed. Honestly, if I could, I’d really want to get a refund for everything.

I would say they were not the highest quality dried filefish product that I used to enjoy in Korea but they were yummy enough to make me want more. Just make sure that you use enough olive oil to fry it. It will make them softer and more tasty. Also I would recommend not to use scissors to cut it. You just bite it or tear it by hands. Because sharp edges made by scissors cut will hurt your mouth. Overall my score for this product is 4.

It has slight sweet taste. I roast it on gas flame quickly both sides which softens it a bit and makes the texture chewy. It contains 25 sheets of palm size oval shaped piece. It makes nice protein snack without the guilt. I enjoyed it, a pleasant surprise find. Squid jerky is a popular item in the culture, this one is easier to chew.

I thought I was buying fish jerky - a healthier snack option. What I received had an odd sweet chemical taste. The bigger issue is that it took effort with kitchen shears to cut. There was no way to bite off bits with one's teeth. I think it may really be a dog chew snack, not a human snack.
