I was first introduced to Ground Based Nutrition protein powder several years ago from a friend. Initially, I purchased the protein just to try and because my friend was raving about the product. I wasn't sure what to expect. Well, after my first order, I was hooked. I have been a loyal customer for years since then. The company has a great reputation for producing a product that is completely organic, which is a plus because some companies use a lot of artificial fillers, etc. Not only is the entire product organic, but the ingredients that they use are right on target with what the body needs, which has impressed me even more with the company. Not only are you getting organic protein sources, but the product includes greens, fiber, healthy, fats, vitamins, minerals, and digestive enzymes. What more could you want? It seems to be the right ratio. The best part of this product is the taste, which is amazing. Most organic protein powders are very dry and do not mix well - Not this product. It mixes great and the taste is another one of the reasons that I continue to use. If I go without the product; I actually start to crave the taste of it, then end up ordering more. The company is fairly young compared to most, but I expect this product to explode once people have tried and figured out how great it is. I will be a Ground Based Nutrition customer for a long time. I recommend that you are try. You will not be disappointed.

Pros: I love that this protein is plant-based and soy-free/sugar-free. The taste (Chocolate) is actually really pleasant. It doesn't taste like grass like some of the reviews say. I've tried some awful protein powders before. I LOVE how water soluble this is. I don't have to blend it or shake it up - I stir it with a spoon directly into cold tap water for <30 seconds. You might have to swirl it around towards the end, but it's very easy to mix. The price per serving of protein is really nice for the quality.Tip: It says to mix with 8 - 12 oz of water. I would recommend measuring out 8 oz (1 cup) so it doesn't taste too watery. I would also immediately pour in the full 8 oz at one time. I tried mixing/adding water slowly, and it was definitely easier when I poured in the full 8 oz in at once. Also - if you are using this with a work-out routine - there are virtually no carbs in this to pair with the protein - don't be afraid to pair this with a healthy carb on the side.Cons: This doesn't have added calcium - so if you are doing a dairy-free diet like I am, I'd recommend mixing it with some sugar-free almond milk (with the added calcium) to make sure you are getting a decent amount. Overall, there are other supplements with more grams of protein per scoop, but I really like this one and will likely purchase again.

I've tried several different protein powders ranging from plant proteins to whey and dairy based blends. Overall, this was one of the best I've tried in the plant or superfood protein category in terms of taste and texture. My palate is mostly used to artificially sweetened proteins and dairy based ones, but this was excellent in my opinion as I'm trying to move away from artificial flavorings. Main thing I had to remember is that naturally flavored products have a different taste than artificially flavored/sweetened ones. Not really gritty or rough in terms of mouth feel/texture. Mixed easily with water in a shaker cup. Vanilla isn't overpowering or overly sweet and no indigestion or discomfort like I typically get from whey. Definitely would put it near the top of the plant proteins I've used

I tried this at a demo at my local Whole Foods. I have only tried the chocolate but it is really good. I had not tried any protein drinks before this so it took me a couple of drinks just to get used to the texture and taste. I mix it with just water but you can mix it with anything you like. The texture at first was a little gritty but if I kept shaking it in my blender bottle it became pretty smooth. It isn't heavy and taste light. I like the convenience of just putting the powder in my blender bottle and taking it with me to work. I drink it in the afternoon and just add water and some ice. I like the fact that it is all plant protein and organic. 20 grams of protein, no sugar, low calories... Full of good stuff! It is a little expensive but when I bought my first bag at Whole Foods they had promotion and I also received a coupon so it wasn't too bad. When I ran out I went into get more but it was expensive without the discounts so I bought a different protein drink to try. Well, I tried it a couple of time and it just wasn't the same. Was able to return for a refund. They have a really good refund policy. Gritty, different taste. I was spoiled! I missed my superfood!Saw it on amazon and it was discounted so I was sold! I feel better, not as hungry all day, convenient. I am so glad I stopped and tried it that one day and so glad I can find it on amazon!

I love the zipper closer on these bags. You probably have to be clear away the powder from the zipper for it to work. I enjoy making a smootie with a cup of almond milk, adding one scoop of powder, one banana, 1 T. of cocoa powder and a few ice cubes.
