Kindle PowerFast International Charging Kit (for accelerated charging in over 200 countries)

I do a lot of international travelling, so I have bought just about every conversion and adapter kit on the market. This is the best-made and most versatile I have seen to charge electronic devices, including but not limited to the Kindles. It is a powerful 9 watts and will work safely on any device using a micro-B USB charging port. It can also be used with non-standard devices, like Apple products or older electronics having mini-B ports, as long as you have the appropriate USB cord for it. It can be used in almost every country (the standard European "C" plug can be used in most outliers like the South American countries and Israel because their plugs are dual type). The charger is as small as it could be for such a powerful charger, is very durable, and compact. I like it because the interchangeable plugs actually form part of the charger. I have a bad tendency to leave adapters in the wall socket and just remove my US charger. The next hotel guest gets a free adapter. This is at a new price of $29.99($10 less than before). This makes it a very good value, considering the design and quality. Unlike the standard PowerFast charger for the Kindle Fire, this kit comes with a USB cord, so it is complete. An added bonus is that the adapters can twist on in any direction, so you can position the USB cord on the side, top or bottom.

I brought this to replace my missing note 2 charger. Despite it being 1.8 amp, the charger actually charge as fast as an 2 amp charger. I have use it on other phones and devices such as my cowon mp3 player and it works perfectly. The kit come in a well package box and the adapter is very well built. It feel sturdy and durable. It comes with different plugs and a usb cable. I love how well built the cable is. It is long enough for daily usage and it has a nice touch to the cable. People often forget that a good cable is as important as the charger in quick charging. This kit comes with multiple adapter plug for different countries so it helpful for frequent travelers. You just bring the adapter for the countries you are traveling to and change the plugs according to your needs. No more bringing international charger that sometimes does not seem to fit well. Since I live in Singapore I am using the three pin uk adapter, I have also use it for my Taipei trip with it own adapter. So far it has been 3 months and it still working great. A great choice for anyone looking for a charging adapter.

I live in New Zealand and travel internationally several times a year for work. Of course, I want to take my Kindle HDX with me and so I purchased this charging kit. The kit comes with five different faceplates, each with a different prong configuration for use in different countries. To change the prong configuration, you simply give a twist to the plug current engaged to remove it and then install the new plug configuration. However, I dont just travel with my Kindle. I have my phone, my computer and other electronic devices which also need to be plugged into the wall outlet. While the Kindle charger may work with the phone, I dont like putting it on a rapid charger and the computer still needs an adapter. So, I would wind up bringing a set of adapters anyway. I use the Travel Smart by Conair M-500E Polarized Adapter Plug Set set which take up less room than the plugs for the Kindle PowerFast International Charging Kit. After doing this once, I realized it was far more convenient for my situation to leave the Kindle PowerFast International Charging Kit at home and just bring the charger that came with my Kindle and the Conair set of plugs that I use for all of my equipment. Plus the Conair adapters weigh less than the Kindle PowerFast adapters which is important to consider if you have too much in your carry on bag already. The Kindle PowerFast International Charging Kit offers you the option of being able to use your rapid charger for your Kindle in a variety of countries. The ability to swap out the plug configurations was a great idea and for that I give the product five stars. If I were only carrying my Kindle, I would pack the Kindle PowerFast International Charging Kit. However, because I also need to plug in other devices, I found that other adapters better met my needs.

perfect for traveling. works fine. Did not indicate that a usb cable was included. so I bought a separate cable. this is we're the problem begins. Amazon site for this article had "Special Offer Get a $5 discount on the Amazon Kindle Fire 5ft Micro USB Cable, when you purchase it with the Kindle PowerFast Charger." I did not get the discount. when I contacted Amazon I was given a run around. Amazon should indicate that a USB cable is included and eliminate the Special offer paragraph. 1/4/13 As stated the charger works perfectly . I have been contacted by Amazon customer service who listened to my issues with the listing and USB cable. They were extremely helpful

Work as it is supposed to. What I miss though, is a bag that can contain them all, that makes it easier when one take them to travel. I also would appreciate if it were printed on them in in which country each of them is appliable in. As it is now, I would have to save the info paper at all time. ...

I have only tested the U.S. plug, but it charges as fast as the regular adapter that came with my U.S. Kindle. The cable is longer than the one included with the Kindle, so that's a plus. The charger is a little bigger than the included one. Now, the packaging! I will avoid obscenities here, but believe me there were a few cast about when I received this package. It's artsy-fartsy Apple imitation that is wasteful and intensely frustrating. After cutting through a couple of tape fasteners I still couldn't remove the inner box from the outer one. After a few minutes of trying I had to tear the outer box to pieces. The various pieces are simply resting in their pockets in a plastic tray in the inner box. The inner box is way bigger than something you would seriously want to pack on a foreign trip, so it's pointless. They should have provided a pouch or something. This is the worst packaging design I've seen in years from a supposedly sophisticated company.

I was a bit misled. I contacted Amazon to ask about what type of converter/s I needed while in Austria (I've never traveled overseas and wasn't sure what I needed). After telling him my needs, this is what was recommended. While it did a fabulous job charging my external batteries, cell phone and Kindle, which is what it's intended for, it isn't intended for blow dryers, etc. as it works with a USB cable. I didn't know this until it arrived. So if you're not tech savvy like me (a USB what?), remember that you will still need a converter for items with actual 'plugs' (and be sure that you get the kind that have the wider slot on one side-if you don't know what I mean, look at your plug, one side is wider than the other). I got lucky, our Concierge provided me with converters for the other. I just wish Amazon would have let me know that this was intended ONLY to charge electronics with a USB and NOT intended as a 'plug' converter and also referred me to that item. I may have spent more, but at least I would have had what I needed. The long & the short of it...I could have taken a $10 (or less!) converter and plugged my Kindle charger from home into that for $15 less and still have been able to charge my external batteries, cell phone & use my blowdryer, etc.!

I took this on a vacation to a 220V location and it was really useful. The adapters change by twisting them on and off the main body of the charger. The 220V plug was extended far enough to fit into the recessed sockets that are typical in 220 Volt-Land. The other nice thing about the design is that the adapters, when installed, fit smoothly and almost seamlessly onto the charger. The fast charger allows you to charge up the Kindle faster than the standard unit, so it's easy to keep the Kindle up and running. I used my Kindle Fire as a tablet, accessing mail and web via apps available for free. Along with the Wifi so prevalent in hotels and other locations, it was pretty simple to stay in touch until we departed for a really remote area and had no more internet (or even radio and TV) for a portion of the trip. But while I was in "civilization", I was able to link up to my email. Meanwhile, I was able to charge the Kindle and use it the entire trip. I noticed that on one of the planes, the charger outlet was a DC plug (like a 12V automobile plug) so be warned that this may not work on an airplane.

Che dire? E' semplicemente un'idea perfetta per chi viaggia. Ovviamente funziona bene con qualsiasi dispositivo con carica USB e non solo il Kindle. Quindi a seconda del luogo del mondo in cui state per imbarcarvi, qui trovate una spina adatta, senza dover portarsi dietro quei pesanti e scomodi adattatori multi-paese che non restano mai attaccati bene nelle prese, dato il peso.

I like his charger, it has all the plugs you need for traveling. Very compact and the plugs just twist on, Very easy to use.

It's always good to recieve something that's in a lovely box. First impressions are lasting, and so I unpacked my charger and its adaptors from its tasteful and splendid packaging with great anticipation. Not disappointed. It all feels solid and professional, the casings are wonderfully tough and shiny, like a Steinway piano, or a bakelite telephone... what's this? Someone actually cares about how a charger and adaptor looks and feels? The charger is fast. I'd love it to be more compact, but I guess it needs the size to provide the juice. The adaptors click on with a reassuring 'thunk' - and - here's the genius - you can attach them in any of four directions, meaning that you can orient your usb cable to suit any unfeasibly silly hotel room mains socket placement (like, half a centimetre above the desk/bedside table, etc), by placing the usb output on the top, side, or bottom. It's a simple twist and click. Not the cheapest of options, but this is something that is well conceived, well designed and well manufactured, and therefore worth the extra expense.

Très pratique pour le voyageur. Une prise tout en un. J'ai utilisé aux US et en Grande Bretagne pour charger aussi bien mon Kindle que mon smartphone que mon ipod. Marche pour tout les appareils avec un branchement USB.
