Convenient and Effective Stress Relief for Cats
My cats had been very stressed due to outdoor cats in the area, and my veterinarian recommended the Feliway spray. I used the spray version for quite a while and found that it helped, but the bottle ran out quickly and it was difficult to use the last of the product. Because of that, I decided to try the plug-in diffuser version instead. After reading some reviews, I was concerned about reports of the plugin getting too hot. When I first plugged it in, there was a noticeable scent for the first several hours. It was not unpleasant and completely dissipated by the next morning. Since then, it has been working very well. My cats do seem noticeably calmer and they are fighting far less than they were before. The diffuser does emit some warmth, but it is not hot to the touch. It also includes a cap for safe storage when unplugged, which I appreciate. Overall, this plug-in option is far more convenient and longer lasting than the spray. I would recommend this diffuser to anyone looking for an easy and effective way to help reduce stress in their cats.

Helping very noticeably with my aggressive kitten
I have two kittens aged 5 months and 6 months. The 5 month old kitten Max was VERY aggressive and struggled to play with our other cat Macie without overwhelming her. He would chase and attack her, and wouldn't back off no matter how much she growled, hissed or got upset. A little over a day ago we plugged this into the wall outlet, and today was the first time he's ever played calmly with her! He even laid in my lap and let me pet him, which he'd never let me do before. Noticeable change in his aggression for sure. Update: Been a few more days. They can now calmly walk around the house together without fighting. Also Max experienced a very stressful event recently, and he's been laying near the plugs to de-stress. All of the vets we've seen have recommended these. No issues with heat or leaking like I've seen others mention. You def have to plug directly into your outlet and you can't have anything above or below it, which means an entire outlet is taken up by these plugs. That's my only issue, though the benefits greatly outweigh that complaint.

unwanted bright light on newer model, but effective product
Purchased 2 of these a couple years ago for my two adopted cats. They've been extremely helpful in helping them acclimate to one another initially and subsequently to get along together better overall. Giving one less star than perfect, because the replacement I recently ordered has a light on the front with no way of turning it off. I didn't see anything about this in the product description. I'm really hoping the other one doesn't need replacing, because I really do not love the light feature. Manufacturer - please consider reverting back to previous model. Other than this, I highly recommend this product!

All the bad reviews are accurate
So first, the overheating problem. I thought maybe people just weren't plugging it in correctly and that's why it would get too hot. I did what another review suggested by buying a surge protector and plugging it into that. It still gets way too hot for my liking. So I only could keep it going for about 8 - 12 hours a day. Basically during daylight hours, when I was home. I thought the level of hot it got would be okay. It seemed to get as hot as my router does for my wifi. Which is hotter than any router I've ever had, but it's never gotten hotter than it does, nor caused any issues. So I thought maybe this would be similar. But after about 3 days of use, you can see the inside plastic starting to warp from how hot it gets. That's not safe at all! So imagine continued use, 24/7 how hot and melted that plastic will get and cause huge issues. So second, I did not have issues with it dripping like others complained about. I made sure it was completely upright and nothing under it plugged in. I made sure to screw the container in tightly and not tip the system in any way. I made sure to handle it always upright to avoid spilling. So thirdly, if the product works best leaving it on 24/7 and it can't be left plugged in due to potential over heating, then there's no point to buy this product until they do something productive about the problem so many are complaining about. I noticed no changes in behaviors of my stray momma cat I'm trying to calm down. She's flipping out to all the changes of being inside my home. I have 2 senior cats I'm keeping separate in the rest of the house, and keeping the momma in my living room. But they can see each other under the door. Not only is that flipping her out but I was told that neighbors are calling the humane officers on strays and that if I didn't want my cat taken away I should have her rabies tags on her when she's out. Welp, I haven't gotten that far into helping her. So she has no tags and can't until she's done feeding the babies. Which are only a month old. So point being, I've only been able to let her out at night. Which she saw a racoon and is now flipping out about being inside all the time, but also about going outside now. I really wanted this to work, but it's basically snake oil. I even tried rubbing it on my hands to let her sniff it since they claim it's like the pheromones momma cats put out. I thought maybe she'd calm and think I'm her momma cat. But it's not helping. She's still sitting meowing a bunch and panting like she's hyperventilating. I'm hoping once she gets spayed that will help calm her some. But clearly this stuff isn't going to help me out. Be warned, they don't allow returns on this. I figure the reason is, they know they are selling a defective product. So unless you have money to waste, just don't buy this. Believe the bad reviews and try something else if you can.

Waste. Use a Pheromone collar instead
I wasted $100 on 6 of these all around my house. I read the instructions and knew that the hormone wouldn't turn corners well, and shouldn't be hear a window, breeze or furniture. I bought enough so that all areas could be covered without having to turn corners to travel... My reason for using them was to stop an aggressive cat from attacking a scaredy cat. They did not work. By the way, people complain that they didn't last a full thirty days. Those people are your typical people that never read an instruction manual. In fact, its the first thing they throw away. I followed the instructions and placed them opposite and to the side of windows, and with no air blowing on them, they absolutley WILL last 30 days+. They don't really work...but they do last 30 days+. Anyway, upon plugging them in, for the first 24-48 hours, you will have a strong fire/smoke smell, just like when your heater comes on for the first time in the winter. However, it's more of a wood-burning smell. It made me sick so I had to stay away from them and not get near them. That dissipated, and they eventually only had a very faint smell if you lowered your head to them. As far as how well they worked, I did see a noticeable side effect in both cats. The scaredy cat hung out more in the open in her CLOSED bedroom. In other words, she was slightly less afraid and ventured out to the middle of the bed or floor. The aggressor cat started playing with toys, which I hadn't seen her do before. So, the hormone does give them a sense of well being. But, the aggressor, when put in the same room as the scaredy cat in supervised visitations STILL attacked viciously. So...fail. If you think about it, using these diffusers are not only expensive, but it's like bringing a sword to a knife fight. it's overkill and you don't necessarily get the result you want. Better to buy the Sentry Calming Collar sold here on Amazon and limit the hormone dissipation to being right under the cat's nose as opposed to forcing everyone in the house to breathe it. As for the collars, they use the exact same synthetic hormone but they too won't stop an aggressive cat (and my cat isn't really aggressive. She's a mild, scared-of-the-rest-of-the-cats sweet heart who only goes into attack mode when around one cat). These collars are best used to gently calm a cat that is going for a car ride to the vet or across country. They aren't safety collars and they are very hard to adjust, so better to do one of two things: 1. Cut off the hardware and then attach the blue medicated collar to a regular safety cat collar with bread twisty ties, or 2. Don't even put the collar on the cat. Just close the loop and throw it in the carrier with the cat or attach it around something inside the carrier of the cat. Much cheaper option as well.

Great Product!
This FELIWAY MultiCat diffuser has been a game changer in our multi-cat home! Within days, the tension noticeably decreased—less hissing, chasing, and overall stress. It’s easy to use, odorless, and works quietly in the background to create a calmer environment. Highly recommend for anyone dealing with conflict or anxiety between cats.

Works Well! Read the directions carefully!
I bought 3 of the Feliway Multi-Cat Diffusers because it was recommended by pretty much everyone I talked with and did research with. I did a deep dive on all the reviews, and since most of them were positive I decided to go ahead and order them. We have 2 cats that we had just introduced to each other, and we had been at our wits end to try and get them to calm down. When the diffusers arrived, we plugged them all in. 1 of the 3 started smelling really weird, and we unplugged it and let it sit for a while. A few days later I noticed the liquid leaked out all over the outside of the bottle, and there was no liquid left inside it. We were able to return it no problem, and the other 2 plugins had absolutely no issues. Now when we talk about how well it worked, I did notice a change in the cats pretty quickly. It wasn’t huge, but it was a sign that it was working. We had also bought the Feliway Spray and would spray certain spots in the house and put it on the cats collars. So we were doubling up so to speak. The spray and the plugins DID work a bit, but it didn’t miraculously fix their relationship. Over time it seemed the cats got used to the smells as well and possibly were starting to build a tolerance to it. To be able to refill them, you DO have to buy individual refills. That wasn’t something we were wanting to do as that adds up with money, and it just wasn’t worth it for us. Be careful with how you hold the product, and make sure you’re holding it straight up and down otherwise it can spill and leak. Don’t plug it in around or under ANYTHING! I’ve seen reviews saying it ruined something or got on something, but the directions tell you specifically to not plug it in below or around anything. The product does get warm to the touch, as it heats up to be able to diffuse the scent. So please keep that in mind when handling it! Outside of the plugin we had to return, none of the working diffusers smelled praise God. I would recommend Feliway diffusers and sprays as they are likely to help at least a little bit, but keep in mind that each cat is different and can react differently to these products. I would say that this is a temporary fix rather than a full on fix. My mom and I pray over our cats, and that works wonders!

*Year and a half later udate, at bottom* It does affect the dog! Not in a good way...
Ok, I'm going to start with saying I've had dogs all my life and my dog now, Fen, is a huge sweety and this is very uncharacteristic for him. So take this how you will. Also while this is meant to be for cats and not for dogs *it's not supposed to affect dogs*.. I started the diffuser after my sister had good results for her cats she had for years after one started randomly getting aggressive, we believe its because her neighbor got 11 cats, lol. And the diffuser helped great. My 8 year old cat is a bit of an "only child" kind of attitude, she's super sweet except towards our other pets, but particularly my boyfriend's puppy who's been living with us since February. I thought the diffuser would help her calm down. Then our dog (1yr old) after having him since a baby and training him to be a survice dog, bit me. That was beginning of the month, August. Then the cat started chasing him and they both started getting very Territorial and aggressive. While I understand the situation and has since been resolved I think it's very important to know this is a risk if you have a dog in the home. I realized it was a territorial issue when they could no longer share the bed or rooms together and so I unplugged the diffuser and wrapped it in a bag then cleaned the whole apartment washing bedding and things they share and cleaning the cat litter to try to reset them and it worked. They are back to their normal just tolerating each other, lol. They are doing fine both sharing the bed and being very cuddly toward us and just ignoring each other but my dog is no longer jumpy and he will let me rub his belly and cuddle him now. I didn't change any training all I did was take that diffuser out and reset the environment. So again take it how you will, but it's important that people know it could affect your dog. *Update* So I'm updating my review because it happened again! So, we have the same cat and dog and also a new younger cat. The original cat and dog are kinda friends now, sniffing noses and laying near each other. The dog gets along with the new cat well also, and again I'm going to emphasize that the dog is well trained and sweet with no aggression, we even got him through Barrier aggression. Well we were doing some deep cleaning around the house and I noticed Fen (the dog) was stressed out and acting weird, so was the cat actually, possibly reacting to his stress. I was playing with him a bit thinking maybe he had some pent up energy (he's part husky) and he bit me! I was shocked!! He didn't break skin and I just put him in his create. I was telling my SO about it when he remembered he had found the old feelaway defuser! I had bagged it up and put it aside in a box to send to my sister since it had worked for her cats and must have misplaced it before getting it to her. He had told me he found it leaking, we through it out, cleaned where it was and everything was back to normal in about 24hrs. So please be cautious and observant of ALL your pets when trying this product! Obviously it works for some situations and cats and that's great, but I wanted to put this out there because it's said not to affect dogs. I would hate for someone to get hurt or a dog be punished when it's not their fault.
