For the uninitiated...
We sent our oldest son a care package for himself, & his girlfriend (they are at an out of state college), so we just "had" to send something sweet for the Granddogs too! Hehe! Especially since they are away from the farm, and can't have the usual fresh treats, and get spoiled! Anywho - The Kids say the dogs LOVED their carob ice cream!! You just add water, and freeze. They froze theirs overnight, and because their freezer was accidentally turned all the way down it froze like an ice cube, so the kids set it out on the counter while they made their food, and served it at about a soft ice cream consistency. The kids said they will be getting the dogs some more this summer, which is a high compliment from cash strapped full time students living on their own for the first time! They also really liked that the ice creams can be stored in the closet with rest of the dog supplies, instead of taking up freezer space in their small freezer, so Bonus!! They also said it was a good size for two dogs (1 pit/lab mix, 1 Shi Zhu) to have a good shared treat; they fed the ice cream off of a spoon to the dogs while playing with them. <3 We will be sending more this summer for the hot days, and to spoil the kids, and the granddogs just that little extra bit!! ^_~ We are in love with the product! **Oh- and all ingredients are people safe. Carob was, and is actually produced for people. **For the uninitiated carob is a vegan chocolate substitute (dog can't have chocolate because of the caffeine -it can cause a heart attack, with the possibility of subsequent brain damage, or even death). It's the best chocolate substitute -meaning actually tastes like chocolate without any harmful additives, or artificial sweeteners - that you can buy for your dogs. :) You can buy carob at health food stores. Sometimes by the pound.

Puppy Tested, Puppy Approved
I'd been looking for a frozen treat exclusively for dogs, so when I found this product, I was ecstatic. Making the mixture was fairly easy. I just used a fork to thoroughly combine the powder and hot water ( I used 208°F water),and to get all the lumps out, I mixed for about 2 minutes. After I was done, I let my dog lick the fork. She enjoyed it, so that was a good sign. Puppy Scoops suggests to freeze for about 5 hours, but in my case, I found it was still kind of soft. I let it freeze overnight just to be sure. The finished product: ice cream similar to a cup of Ben and Jerry's Brownie flavour (in appearance, of course). My dogs enjoy it very much, so I'm very much looking forward to them trying the other flavours. If only there was a dog-safe ice cream topping... hint, hint Puppy Scoops. Thank you for making such an awesome product.

My dogs love this stuff!!!
I think the pricing for this is insanely high so I won’t be purchasing it again. But it was easy to make, maybe my freezer setting is too high but I had to let it sit on the counter for a while before I could scoop it out. But the dogs loved it

My 11 year old loves it
It was pretty easy to make, clumped a little but I almost expected that. I stirred a little longer and faster and it smoothed out. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that I have thaw it out a little before I can scoop it. My freezer is set at what the manufacturer recommends and I bent a spoon trying to scoop it. Other than that its wonderful. I even tasted it myself! Not to bad, not very sweet but it really shouldnt be for our fur babies. My pup absoutly loves it tho!! Im going to try the maple bacon next!

Fantastic product
My dog cannot get enough Puppy Scoops ice cream. She's a picky eater with a sensitive tummy who gets bored with food quickly. Not with this. She actually prefers it to the human ice cream from the shops. It's super simple to make and almost impossible to mess up. You can even freeze tiny bits of fruit in it. I've tasted all of the flavors my dog has had and each tastes pretty much as you expect it to (in a good way). The peanut butter is Pippa's favorite, but the carob and the maple bacon disappear almost instantly, too. She weighs 90 lbs so I suppose I could let her eat a whole container at once, but I feel it's better to divide it into three or four servings over an equal number of days. It's her after-dinner dessert and she looks forward to it eagerly. For an extra special treat plop some Puppy Scoops on top of a piece of the same company's Puppy Cake and watch your furbuddy attain poochie Nirvana.

Digusting Pakaging
This shipper used a large brown envelope to put in an engagement calendar and an ice cream container for dogs. Needless to say, the envelope arrived with a flat ice cream container and lid. The puppy ice cream container's brand is: Puppy Scoops. The packer does not have any common sense and I don't recommend you buy from them. The Pooch Creamery puppy ice cream is better; my dog loves it and the packaging was great! I recommend The Pooch Creamery puppy ice cream

They Know It’s Fake Chocolate
Our two Westies love Puppy Scoops in maple bacon!. They’ve also had vanilla and pumpkin and enjoyed them. I decided to order some ice cream for their birthday but the maple bacon was on back order. I decided to mix it up and order the Carob. One of the dogs - the one who eats anything - ate it but didn’t devour it like he does with food he loves. The other dog sniffed it and then walked away from his bowl. We’ll wait for the maple bacon to come back.

Sage Loves It
My dog developed the taste for chocolate through unfortunate events.(she's ok though!) Now when she smells chocolate she wants it and i have to be always aware of her around it, so this is a safe option and she loves her icecream without being deprived. We all know how it sucks when you want something you love an can't have it. Definitely use a blender to mix it. Much better consistency overall.
