I loved this cute valance...it is good quality and a good length. The color is more burgundy than red but that works for my room. The decorative cotton lace at the bottom makes it just perfect.

This is a very cute valance (ordered in Burgundy), fabric is a medium weight and not lined, which makes it nice when multiple valances are needed for larger windows. That being said, BEWARE if needing to use more than one valance on a rod, these are not "expensive" curtains; Therefore, the manufacturer does not pattern match (hence the 4 star rating). In other words, the rod pocket is not sewn at the same point in the pattern, which is not an issue if using only one valance per rod but is an issue when there is more than one valance on the same rod and you have a tendency to be picky, like me. (I used 4 in a row for a wide window and didn't notice it until I stepped back and it was VERY obvious the pattern didn't match across the length of the window). Luckily, I ordered 10 of them and was able to match them up in pairs to deceive the eye. Anyone who has sewing experience knows how important pattern matching is when it comes to window treatments that involve a check or plaid of any kind. Other than that, I am very pleased with them... They provide just the right touch of country without being overpowering. The check isn't the typical larger scaled checks associated with most Buffalo Checks, they are smaller 1" squares making it a nice "in between" compared to gingham. I struggled with figuring out the true color of the Burgundy, as I didn"t want the "purple" tone... In reading the reviews and product questions, there are so many varying answers to that question I suppose because everyone sees color differently. For me, they are most definitely NOT a true red, as in bright picnic red... not even close to that. I find them to be closer to the "country red burgundy" , not exactly barn red, not exactly purple burgundy either. I think it all depends on the other colors and lighting in the room as to the "tone" they will pick up... for example, when I put them right against my red dining rooms chairs (painted Cherry Tart), the color changes to a purple burgundy but once they are up and against the green wall, they appear more red than burgundy... It's all in the eye of the beholder I suppose. :) I needed something to blend with "Waverly" brand red tones... which are more relaxed, toned down reds; not "bright" reds and this did the trick. It isn't exactly the shade I was hoping for but suprisingly blends beautifully without standing out like a mismatched color. The manufacturer photo that depicts the color most correctly is the close up detailed one. The other photos make it appear lighter than what they are. Overall, very happy with this purchase!! ... blends well with the casual/relaxed home but also is perfect for a little more formal French Country feel as well. Just cute all the way around! An inexpensive way to change things up without breaking the bank :)
