I use this to wipe the dirt, dust, and grime off my Allen-Edmonds dress boots after each wear. I use this brush, too, to finalize the buffing after applying the Sapphir Renovator conditioner with a polishing cloth. The fine bristles of the brush help work the conditioner into the grain of the leather. The bristles are soft and gentle, even more so than when you pet a horse, that it will not damage. Overall, this is a high-quality brush. Philosophy I find shoe care to be a welcome reprieve in a world filled with people constantly rushing to and fro; pushing and clamoring over each other; and getting impatient with one another. I take the time to reflect on life's journey or just the trip from which I have returned during the few minutes it takes to replace the shoe trees and brush off the dirt and grime. Polishing and waxing my shoes, I instantly see the fruits of my labor. I appreciate, too, looking good, as the outer image we hold of ourselves is a reflection of our inner image. In other words, bring more mindfulness and appreciation into your life.

If you have high quality shoes or of a bent to like shoes with a shine, then a high quality shoe brush is a necessity. I now have several and they will passed down to the next generation, as it will in all probably take several generations before this brush wares out. You will lose a few brush hairs initially. For most of us this is a once in a lifetime purchase. I have two - one for very dark colored shoes and one for much lighter colors.

This is a very nice brush. It is also a very expensive brush. There is nothing magical about it, but I don't think anyone will regret buying it. The brush will not shine your shoes any differently than a most less expensive brushes, but it will last longer. It shed a few hairs at first, as any brush will, but just a few. I do not believe the reviews that state the brush never shed one hair. I have owned cheaper brushes that are just as good, but I had the opportunity to select those in person. If you want a good brush and you don't want to deal with the uncertainty of buying a product blind, this is what you should get. If you are willing to try out and return a few brushes, you can probably get something just as good for less money.

This brush is a high quality product. The cutouts on the sides provide good grip, and looks very nice. I used it once to polish my new dress shoes and it did the job. I would recommend this horsehair brush for dress shoes polishing.

In an effort to take better care of my leather boots, I purchased this brush since it was the same brand as a highly-rated Saphir conditioner I started using. So far, I've been happy with the brush, which I use to buff my boots after applying conditioner. The bristles are very soft on the leather, and brushing gave my boots a nice clean shiny texture. The pic above shows a pair of boots after buffing. The brush seems like it's good quality and I'm optimistic that it will last.
