Abu Garcia Veritas Casting BFS Fishing Rod, Balanced and Lightweight Rod, Powerlux 100 Construction, Custom Ergonomic Reel Seat

I bought this Abu Garcia Rod for my husband, and I’m convinced it’s his new favorite family member. From the moment he took it out of the tube, he couldn’t stop talking about the balance, the sensitivity, the finish—things I pretended to understand but I’m pretty sure made perfect sense to him. From my perspective, here’s what I actually noticed: 1. He’s Happier. I’ve never seen a grown man grin so much while tying tiny lures onto a fishing rod. If a piece of fishing gear can reduce stress and increase patience, this one does. 2. He’s Out of the House More. Suddenly, early mornings don’t bother him. He practically tiptoes out the door so he doesn’t wake me. Honestly? Bless this rod. 3. It Actually Catches Fish. I don’t know the science behind "BFS" (he explained it, I nodded), but I do know he’s bringing home more stories—and occasionally actual fish. He keeps telling me how sensitive the rod is and how he can feel every little tap. Again, smiling and nodding works. 4. It’s Holding Up Perfectly. He’s used it a lot, and it still looks brand new. No complaints, no issues, no “Honey, I think I need another one…” yet. I call that a win. Overall, if you’re a wife looking for a gift that will make your husband extremely happy (and give you some peaceful alone time), the Abu Garcia Veritas BFS rod is an unexpectedly excellent choice. The man is obsessed—and honestly, I’m not even mad about it.

Impressive rod! First day out with it striper fishing and it held its own. Caught 8 that day on that rod, BP for the day was a 2 ten pounders . Looking at purchasing a second when back in stock.

For rods at the same price point this one. I nought a 7 foot two piece ML fast. I am very happy with considering the price. The guides are firmly mounted. It is a comfortable rod to hold, it is light weight too. So far it has been pretty durable because it got slammed in the tonneau cover.

While there are certainly better offerings from Abu. The Veritas has it's own place carved out. I like to think of the Veritas as a duty or EDC rod, if that makes any sense. Your not so worried if it gets a few nicks or scratches. A great entry level rod for the aspiring fishermen/women as well. I have three of these rods ranging from ML to H. I always take these if I'm heading out on the yak or in the Jon. The blanks are sensitive if you have them paired correctly to your lure type. Weight is decent and comfort (epescially on the revised Veritas) is actually pretty good. Veritas's are fairly sensitive and again paired correctly are capable of casting good distances. While I personally wouldn't give retail for this rod, if you shop around and are patient you can find it for 30 and sometimes 40% off, at that price it's a great deal. For the 100$ mark, nothing is going to touch a St.Croix BassX, Daiwa Tatula XT, or (love these rods) a Sprialite. However Rods in the 100$ and under price point are all going to have their vices. Bottomline the Veritas is a good rod, if your an Abu person (like me) they are another decent rod to add to the rack. However, I would highly recommend you to save up just a little bit more and go for the Abu Garcia Villain 2.0. Incredible and well worth any extra money you put up for it. Check out the reviews on Tackle Tour or Wired to Fish. Always remember Abu rods tend to run a little stiff on their power rating. There is a lot of competition at this price point these days. Do your research. In closing I will again mention, if you can acquire this rod for 80$ or less, you just cant go wrong, anything more and look at the other rods I mentioned or step up to the next level by Abu the difference is unbelievable. You cannot go wrong with this line from Abu Garcia. I have two of them and they are robust enough to be tossed around the boat and then pull bass from under docks. Great sensitivity on them. I have mine paired with a shimano DC on fluorocarbon line. Works great.

Recieved rod with tip broke before the last eyelit. Broke piece was not in package.

Personnellement quand j utilise cette canne a peche pour le doré j ai beaucoup de mal à ferrer le poisson. Par contre c est une excellente canne pour l achigan dans les rapides ou le grand brochet. Cette canne est très rigide mais quand même légère et je la trouve super belle.
