Sehr schade!

Not the right size for my pilates mat
I go to pilates once a week and used to cycle there quite often, 1.6 miles on my usual route. But since I got my own mat, a nice comfy 12mm thick one, I have to go on the bus instead because the mat roll is too awkward to carry easily on the bike. That means leaving earlier if the traffic is bad. So I was delighted to get a bag that would solve the problem. But when it came I found it was the wrong shape - far too long and very narrow. No way could I fit my rolled mat through the neck of the bag. I was going to get rid of it, not worth the house space, but then I discovered that some sensible person in the design team had specified nice stretchy material. But someone far less sensible had specified a non-stretchy band for the open top. Duh! My mat is 60cm wide and around 18cm diameter when rolled. The Reebok bag was 80cm long - far more than is needed for most mats - and the rigid neck band was only around 16 cm in diameter. So I simply cut off the top 12cm or so and hey presto, my bag fits, even when not rolled really tight (which I avoid because it then takes ages to flatten out when deployed at my pilates session). The straps to close over the top works fine and it's comfortable enough as a rucksack for cycling. I could even put my phone and wallet in the top safely, although an outside zipped pocket would have been useful. If Reebok fix the narrow neck design fault I think it would be really good for most mats. If you search on amazon uk for 'yoga mat' the majority of the first few are 12mm thick so a cursory 5 mins of research by the design team would have resulted in a better product first time. Anyway I now have a good if rather tight carry bag but it has an untidy neck where I sliced off the rigid top band. At least it doesn't look like the material is likely to fray. See my composite photo for how it turned out.

Functional, well made, a tad ugly.
I seem to be a little bit odds with other reviewers! This is a very well made bag. It is a soft grey almost sweat-shirt type fabric, with a bit of stretch. It is a good size, all the stitching looks good and well finished, and the clasps are secure and easy to use, ditto the carrying straps. I can see it lasting well, I haven't yet washed it but there's no reason to suspect it would be a problem. It just doesn't quite do it for me - it (dare I say it) is a bit, well, ugly.Sorry... (glances at the bag which is behaving itself and has done nothing wrong).I wouldn't usually buy anything with a big logo on, and the shape at the top part of the bag (where it can be rolled over) doesn't appeal even though I know it's all part of how useful and adaptive the bag is.Mostly though I just don't like the fabric. I know, I know, the fabric is what other reviewers seem to like the most, but for me it's like shoving your mat etc into an old sweatshirt that's been cut down and re-sewn.Maybe I am more shallow than I thought!
