27 inches, 1440p, IPS, 144hz, G-Sync - what's not to like?
Just like you, I have been taking my sweet sweet time watching and reading reviews from both sponsored and non-sponsored content creators. Also visited reddit to validate everything I know about this monitor. Long story short, it all comes down to gaming preference. Do you have a powerful GPU card and have the resources to buy a 4k gaming monitor? This is not for you. Do you have a powerful GPU card and have the resources to buy an Ultrawide 1440 gaming monitor? This is not for you. Do you want to upgrade your gaming experience and you have a GPU that can run the games you play in 1440p with frames higher than a 100hz? Then this is for you! Gone are the days where you have to get a TN panel to enjoy shooters and RTS games. This is an IPS panel with a high refresh rate! It's great for all game genres and I mainly play DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Even before calibration the colors are great and vibrant but after calibration, it is way better. Search in Reddit for suggest color calibration which you can then download and manually configure in the monitor's menu. This is my best purchase for this year and I would highly suggest gaming monitors from LG! They're great and sturdy! I did not notice any backlight bleed or issues from my panel. Happy kid here. :) Edit 14-Sep-2021 A year after and I am still enjoying this monitor a lot. After upgrading to RTX 3080, I now can appreciate games more when played with Ray Tracing and it is very noticeable on this monitor. 4k monitors are still costly so sticking to this resolution will be my norm for maybe 2-3 more years. No issues with the monitor, still great. I highly recommend!

Best gaming monitor
Its a best Gaming and Content editor monitor. Size is good, resolution is 2K, refresh rate is 144 which is good for gaming. And price is very good. Just one complain, its screen is not properly fitted with its stand, i checked with one of my friend using same monitor, he reported the same problem. I already have a 4k 60 Hz monitor, but purchased it for FPS gaming.

Great monitor, but don't over pay for it!
The LG 27GL850-B is a great all around Nano IPS monitor for mixed usage, game/work/entertainment(youtube/netflix etc) If you already researched about the monitor specs all you need to know is after months of mixed usage, i do recommend it and what really makes this an excellent choice for a new monitor is that it's well priced and the perfect all rounder. So Just don't over pay for it due to availability issues and you will be happy.

Its just too good, colors needs calibration though
Very fast, Vibrant, high res, and has a quality feel to it, tho colors are trash out of the box. Here are my calibration settings for color should you need it. game mode : Gamer 1 , Brightness 70 Contrast 60 Sharpness 60 Gamma mode 2 custom color temp RGB: Red: 38, Green 44, Blue 47 you can try to adjust to your liking Monitor has ridiculously over saturated reds to the point where it hurts your eyes if not calibrated.

Good budget 2k 144hz, sRGB 90+ IPS monitor
So I finally bought this monitor after intense research for the following combination : IPS+27inch+sRGB(colour gamut ) over 90%,144hz refresh rate and at least 250-300nits of brightness for editing and gaming purposes. It even has an sRGB mode for editing. And for this budget ? I'm impressed as hell, LG has done it again with the nano IPS panels in this one. Only thing, is the stand is plastic and feels like cheap build quality and and it can't be rotated laterally. But 90° pivot is there. The display is truly beautiful.

Great monitor, my son loves it 😍
Great monitor, my son loves it. Pros: Vibrate colors, very nice packaging, nice attention to the details in general. Cons: come with installation CD, would recommend removing it since most people should have access to internet to install drivers or could replace it with small flash drive.

The best 1440p 144hz 27in monitor with VRR
The best gaming 1440p 27in monitor I have ever purchased. Crystal clear picture 144hz with VRR. Easy to adjust height and tilt. Other manufacturers’ 27in monitors with similar specs costs a lot more!

Overall fantastic monitor. 1440p is a solid choice for the 27 inch size, visuals are sharp without being too demanding on the GPU, colors are good with great whites and blacks. Refresh rate is solid (imo above 144hz gives diminishing returns in general, 240hz is overkill, at least to my eyes) Overall great for gaming, but also great for productivity work. Height adjustment is smooth and the monitor is comfortable to use.

Whilst not the most accurate colour, for the price, these are great panels for additional monitors. I have 1 either side of my main graphics monitor.

My main monitor is a LG 32” 4K 144hz which I got for around $700 a few years back. I know OLED is the lates and greatest but I needed IPS for the viewing angles and because I leave my PC on 24/7 and game for hours. It’s worked flawlessly so when I wanted to pick up a second monitor I decided to keep it to the LG line and this one is like a baby brother of my main monitor, just at 1440p. Colors look great after adjustment, no dead pixels, no extreme IPS glow. The only con is the round back design LG likes to do with their UltraGear line. You won’t be able to add a monitor bar with it. Also, the original stand has very limited adjustments, but if you’re using a third-party arm like me it’s not an issue. One other thing to note; when you remove the OEM stand, there’s a little mounting piece that kind of just sticks out from the back. Other than that, this is a quality monitor. Admittedly I haven’t done hardcore gaming on this since I’m using it as a second monitor but the quick testing I did was great. Definitely recommend this especially if you can grab it at around $200. Great value.
