Great value for quantity
All purpose lens that fulfills all requirements without the need to switch between lenses. The experience has been superb because I am able to capture shots from a distance without a drop in quality. The only drawback is the weight of the lens itself, hope I get used to it quickly.

I purchased this lens from Amazon SG. It was sold and shipped by Amazon SG, not by a third party, with Prime next day delivery. (So it wasn't shipped from US, shipped right from Singapore warehouse.) I thought the great price was due to black Friday and I knew that Amazon.com is an authorised Nikon dealer, so I assumed Amazon SG would be an authorised dealer too, although I didn't see Amazon SG in the list of authorised dealers on Nikon Singapore's web site. What I received was a lens with a US serial number with US warranty card. I checked with Amazon support to see whether it is normal and whether it would be eligible for warranty. I was told by the support person that it would be eligible for warranty and I should check with Nikon Singapore if I have any issue. Well, I didn't have any issue but I decided to check with Nikon US and Singapore. As expected, Nikon US straight forward refused to give any proper answer and asked me to check with Nikon Singapore as I am not a US resident. Nikon SG later responded me that they were checking with Amazon SG. After a few days, Amazon SG reached out to me with an apology that the lens I received is ineligible for warranty in Singapore as it was imported for US market but sold in Singapore. I was offered for a refund if I returned the item. So it is all fair for me. Later, I decided to keep the lens, as the price I paid was what I would have to pay if I purchased it second hand from Carousel. So purchasing a new lens with Amazon return policy at a price of a second hand is still a great deal for me and the lens I received was a perfect copy. It would be a pity returning this just because of lack of warranty. However, one thing that is a bit wrong here is that, Amazon SG is selling gray market item first hand and without stating it on the item's page clearly. This is quite unexpected for me. I recommended support to include "no warranty in Singapore" or something similar in the title of the product or its description. My recommendation was simply ignored. For support, not having any warranty statement on the item page is sufficient but I still think that this should be clearly stated so that people will know what they are buying. This can prevent further support tickets and returned items. The price of this item is dynamically changing daily, sometimes it is without a discount, same price as what you would pay if you were to buy this from an authorised dealer. So if I paid that much, I would definitely return it and here a nice product would end up as a renewed item on Amazon.
