When I first opened the jar, it was solid. I have to admit this did worry me a bit, but decided to give it a go. I scraped a lump out with my finger, then started warming it up in my palm. It started to melt (rather rapidly as my hand was warm) and I was able to apply it to my hair and scalp quite easily - applying more as I felt necessary. The scent isn't unpleasant (quite herbal - but not in a nasty medicinal way) - unlike some hair masks I have used in the past, and whilst my hair did feel geasy the following morning (before washing) it did seem softer. I put my shampoo on before I got into the shower and the hair mask washed out with ease. I didn't need conditioner, and treated my hair to the usual finishing (wrapped in a microfibre towel) and air dried. My hair is soft and shiney - and considering I am a regular swimmer, it's in good condition. It's not something that will go into my swim bag - it takes too long to work. Compared with my previous brand of mask, it's better value as I found a little goes a long way, so this will be staying on my bathroom shelf.

I rub this into my scalp and pull through my hair for a deep condition about once a week or so. It's like a solid oil/grease in the tub so it melts with the warmth of your hands. I tend to apply at night and put an old pillowcase over my pillow to protect it from any residue whilst I'm sleeping. When getting into the shower the following morning I keep my head out of the water and apply shampoo to my scalp and pull through my hair before wetting. It sounds a bit odd but if you wet your hair first without the shampoo in place (like you would normally do) it's harder to remove the product. Afterwards my hair feels nicely conditioned. Great product and lovely scent.

Great addition to my hair care products. I am 69 year old who has used minimal products on my hair all my life. However last few years my hair has become very dried out and fizzy. I use this pre wash and leave on for 30 minutes then use just a little shampoo to wash hair. There is a definite improvement in texture, feel and look of my hair. Shall continue with it...

I've recently bought it and only had time to use it once - left it on for about an hour, and I'm impressed with the results. Yes, it was kind of solid and had to wait a few seconds to melt on my fingers, but this is not big deal. My hair feels so much softer and nicer now, without being "heavy"- despite using hats daily because of the cold winter wind. No nasty chemicals. Will definitely buy again.

Great smell - like a luxury spa - but be mindful it's basically coconut oil - so in the winter - solid (need to scrape it with your nail and melt it between fingers before applying to hair/scalp) and in the summer - liquid like cooking oil - hair feels great afterward and you can leave it on for ages enjoying the fragrance.. just be careful opening the pot in the warm weather to avoid spillage!!!
