Only external is geniune leather, but interior is faux leather.

The check wallet I have used for several years finally broke apart. I ordered this wallet because it has most of the liked features of my old one. What is different from my old one is that my old one holds checkbook so I can easily write check - this one holds checkbook but awkward to write check. I am still happy with this wallet as I was able to make it work for me - I just folded a piece of cardboard that fit the area, stapled back page of checkbook to top part of cardboard, then tucked the lower end under the part where cards are held. The cards are under the checkbook then, but that works fine for me. I love all the other features.
