no, i don't think this one will fit in the older model. the mats and accessories are not interchangeable.

Is the auto blade holder different from the holder that came with the sdx 125?

No, this is the same blade holder that came included with the SDX-125 machine.

Is Brother planning to come out with one of these types of blades for the 350?

not to my knowledge....the technology is totally different.
