Perfect for cleaning the leaves from my koi pond!

Works well for getting occasional debris out of pond. Seems durable and telescoping handle comes in handy.

I have to replace every year or two because I abuse them and the net tears away from the frame. However if you just used as a top skimmer (rather than a scoop for the muck at the bottom) it would likely last a long time.

Super sturdy and well made. I have a 1000 gallon outside pond and I use it to scoop up algae that i've brushed off the walls with a broom and this net is perfect. I use to clean up floating debris in the pond also. I've bought other nets before and they break every 1-2 years. I just bought this so i don't know but it looks really sturdier made than the others. It comes from big Al's in Ottawa which is the best pet shot i've ever seen. I don't work for them or even know them but i make the 2 hour trip from Montreal just to buy stuff from them. I don't know what i would do without them so i want them to have success.

The pole is definitely heavy duty and I expect it will last for many years, but I still consider it light weight even if it is heavier than some other options out there. Who knows for certain how durable a new item is, but it does seem likely to last longer than the last net because the net is made of a durable, small woven mesh that I'm guessing will be less likely to catch on a rock. I was initially thinking about returning it because I was skeptical the more shallow net pocket would be safe to catch fish. Yesterday I caught 10-12 goldfish (3"-6") in less than 10mins with someone using my old net to make it harder for them to get away. I think it will be fine with my larger 12" fish. Completely happy with the purchase.A couple warning notes: if you have shoulder or wrist issues and you find skimming difficult I'm guessing this one will be a little harder than some others because the mesh is smaller and requires more force to get through the water quickly when chasing fish. If I had larger fish like koi, the depth of the net would still be a concern.
