Better than a charcoal pencil!
Needed to make a temporary grid on a sweater. Ive never worked worked with fabrics before, but i did find this tool extremely simple to use! Just DONT unscrew the cap first time unpacking it. Vertical lines in the image are made with a charcoal pencil. Horizontal libes are made with this tool. The horizontal lines are much clearer, sharper, and took way less effort to make. Its not too thick, its comfortable to use, it functions very well, and i highly recommend it for the current asking price (under $4 usd).

Reliable
There are so many options for chalk markers out on the market, but this is the one I consistently use. It’s worth the money.

Easy to use
Easily marks fabric. No dragging or pulling like with tailors chalk. Wish I’d had this years ago. Good size too

Good only for some fabrics
Works on some material. I used it on a cotton woven fabric and it had little snags now. Erases easily but holds up when sewing. Shows on most darker fabrics

Madame Sew Tailors Chalk
This is very easy to use once you follow the instructions. It gives you a small distinctive line. I will probably order the other colors.

Eh...
I kinda like this and kind of don't. It works just fine on stable fabrics, and the lines it creates are very thin. It also brushes out easily when you need the lines gone, but not as easily as regular tailor's chalk. The principle works with a fine metal wheel that gets coated in chalk, and distributes the chalk along the track of the little "spokes" on the wheel. The issue comes when using this on stretchy fabrics, or anything that's not especially stable. Since the little wheel spikes have to dig into the fabric in order to trace a line, if you use this on an unstable fabric, it stretches it out, creating a wonky line. In essence, if it's a fabric that requires a delicate hand, this tool becomes very difficult to use. On the sweater knit in the photo, it's very hard to trace without stretching. So I'll use it for my wovens, but as for knits, I'll be looking for something else.

Works as stated
This marker works great on dark fabric and marks remove easily with a brush of the hand.

To expensive, to little, does not work
Too expensive, the mechanics ( a wheel) to dispense the chalkboard dust does not mark in the fabric. The size is too short making it difficult to manage. The dust ( pink) is too clear. I won’t buy in the future

Nice marker but a bit expensive.

I wasn't enjoying the standard chalk, and those marking pens that are supposed to vanish with heat from the iron don't always - and they sometimes stain other items. But this -- this is perfect! If it comes in other colours, I'll have to get some, as it doesn't show up as well on lighter fabrics. But this is a game changer, I love it!

Not Cheap and it took a little while t arrive. But so far the best tools I had. It doesn't sticks much on the fabrics we use, so you could easy remove it with a airy brush off attempt. The mark is really nice and fine for preciser work. Woudl buy again.

Very glad I bought this, it makes much more defined lines than a traditional pencil or chalk, and requires less pressure to apply it. Especially handy for people who work with black or dark fabrics a lot, or for when you need to be very precise such as hand embroidered shapes.

I wanted to use this to mark yarn for my amigurumi. Doesn't really mark the yarn enough. I'll keep it in my sewing kit.
