What is the outside diameter of the barrels?

OD of barrel is 5/16” Overall length of banana plug is 1-3/4” These are great plugs!! I particularly like the two set screws, they make a solid connection with the wire.

I am trying to plug these into my speakers and receivers. it's seems like the tip is too thick. they won't go in. am i doing something wrong?

The KabelDirekt banana plugs are slightly larger in diameter than most; having said that, they need a bit more force to insert them, but are more snug once in place, and provide a really secure electrical contact with the female socket. Make sure that the screws securing the wire in place are at least level with the exterior of the barrel. Hope this helps.

Upon ordering i thought i saw an infographic on attaching the wire but can't find that now. do i fold wire over so it is doubled for best connection?

If you use 11-16 gauge wire (with the requisite length of outer plastic covering stripped), there's no need to double up on the wire before insertion into the banana plug, I've actually used wire of 10 and 14 gauge with these plugs, and the screws make a really strong connection--secured beautifully. A sturdy screwdricer with a 1/8" flat blade should allow more than adequate tightening pressure to be applied.

These are already the most expensive banana plug for some unknown reason. Why the enormous price bump to $26+ per set?

It's $26 for 10 pair, that's only $2.60 each for high quality, 24KT plated banana plugs. You can also buy the 5 pair for only $17. The price is very reasonable.

Does not fit standard binding posts for home audio

Pros: Solid construction. Cons: Doesn't fit any of the binding posts I have in my home stereo system. I tried with two different amps and speakers. Fits none of them. I think the manufacturer/ seller should mention in their ad that these aren't of the standard measurements for banana plugs.

Good but not excellent.

I had ordered these with high hopes. Had seen a few reviews that said these do not fit most binding posts. The good points - solid stuff with twin screws to hold the cables. I don't have a micro ohm meter but showed virtually zero resistance on my DMM. Excellent finish. Don't like naked plugs but not easy to get quality insulated plugs. Can cover these with heat shrink sleeves. The bad point is as I feared it did not fit any of the binding posts sockets I have. Klipsch speakers did not accept these plugs. Also my amps did not take these. Another set of binding posts from Parts Express (bought through Amazon.ae) also did not take these plugs.. I wanted to return these but having already fitted them, didn't want to do or Amazon may be passing this to someone else who will buy unsuspecting of this issue. I had to squeeze the springs to make them go into the sockets. Very bad design KabelDirekt.. All my other banana plugs fit the sockets I have snug but without having to use my pliers to squeeze them.

Easy to insert the cables into them, and they're color coding is neat and simple, definitely good quality. However, I'm taking 2 stars off for how absolutely annoying the plug tips are.. They require a decent bit of pressure to plug in. Had that issue with 3 different speakers and 2 different amps, so it's not an equipment issue. A different set of plugs I have plug in smooth as butter. That's my only gripe with these.

Great price for a real quality item, I have these set up with QED silver anniversary XT cables from my JBL receiver to JBL L52 classic speakers, I found them to be well made and easy to work with, they also look great. And ... The sound quality is excellent!
