KEEN Men's Targhee 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot, Black Olive Golden Brown, 8.5 UK Wide

Great boots . Comfortable out of the box. Nice wide fitting. No blisters . Now have 6 pairs of Keen boots. Also have a pair of walking shoes, casual shoes and sandals and recently the new targhee 4 boots. They are all excellent.

Care should be taken to ensure quality seams. Cannot comment on durability or performance yet.

Mein altes Modell habe ich mehrere Jahre tragen können, die Schweizer Berge hoch und runter. Leider haben sie dieses Jahr mehrere Risse bekommen, das ist auch Ok nach solch langer Zeit. Da sie sehr bequem sind, gerade für breitere Füße, habe ich mich wieder für das Modell entschieden. Leider hat die Qualität stark nachgelassen. Nach ein paar Monaten löst sich schon die erste Nocke von der Sohle. :/

The boots are comfortable right out of the box. Sturdy, comfortable and precisely as expected.

This pair is a warranty replacement for another pair that was only a year old; thankfully when the first pair failed Keen followed through on their commit to quality. As you can see and hear in my short video clip, the insole that came with the shoe did not fit my wide foot. The outside rear portion of the insole created pressure on my foot that was actually painful. I didn’t think this would be the case especially after “upgrading” to a wide size. Surprisingly, the insole also lacked in arch support. Fortunately, I had my trusted Fleetfeet insoles, which slipped in and created a great fit and better support for my foot. The rest of the shoe is great and delivers as promised. I recommend the KEEN Men's Targhee III Mid Height waterproof shoes for light to moderate trail hacking. I think my toddler would agree, particularly because we we able to travers more unravel ground with him on my back in a hiking pack. The waterproofing helped greatly during our early spring thaw hikes, let’s pray it doesn’t fail like they did in the last pair.

Main problem that I experienced immediately upon trying them on was that the tongue wanted to not stay put and wanted to pop out and stick forward. Also, I noticed that there was no leather protection running down the center of the tongue like the original Gypsum WP I had used for some years, and I could feel the laces digging into the fabric of the tongue and into the bridge of my foot. I didn't feel like I needed to spend six months suffering in these boots to confirm my initial impression, so I returned them immediately. I will look more closely at their Circadia mid or other models to find a boot with a tongue that is sensibly designed to do its job and protect the bridge of my feet from tight laces cutting into them on long hikes or walks.

I walk 8-10 miles a day at work on concrete and asphalt and these boots have kept up with me thus far. I have 4E wide feet and these boots while a little snug still fit great. The water proofing is great keeps feet dry as advertised. My only real complaint is my feet sweat a lot and feet do get very warm in these boots just bring extra socks and change them out during the day. I will buy again.
