Disclaimer, I used non forever spin tops to test the base. Tested with both finger spun and string wound(damages the base, I know) tops, works well with both - tops will spin longer and stay in one place. I do wish it was slightly bigger, but with this size and the pouch it’s perfectly portable for travels. I’d recommend a larger base if you’re only using the top in one place though. It’s great quality.

If you're excited about Foreverspin tops, or any small high precision spinning top in general, I highly recommend this base. The two critical features it has are that the spinning surface is glass, and slightly concave. Glass enables very long spin times. The concave shape means you don't have to find a perfectly level table (or worse, level a table yourself). Unless your table is extremely slanted, this base will have a spot where the top can just stay without wandering around, and the base will guide the top there. Additionally, this base is surprisingly heavy, and well made. It looks nice, it feels good in your hands. If part of your interest in all this is the conversations it sparks, this contributes to that as much as any top.

It is a work of art, and is a compact well made, heavy base. has perfect curve to the bowl, and my sapphire tipped spinner loves it. don't leave it on the coffee table, as it will be mistaken for a coaster.
