Good enough and easy to install you will just miss the BMW sign
Your only problem will be how to open the old fob. You will need some effort and focus. Just search for some YouTubes and you will find what you need. If the BMW sign was placed, it would have been great. At all, I removed it from the old fob and glued it to the new one, and it is not bad.

This replacement key fob cover fit perfectly and was exactly what I needed. All the buttons lined up properly, and everything snapped together nicely without any gaps. It instantly made my worn-out key fob look brand new again. The material feels solid and durable, not cheap plastic. The buttons press smoothly and respond just like the original. Installation was straightforward and didn’t take much time, especially if you already have the internal electronics from your old fob. Overall, this is an excellent replacement and a great alternative to paying for an expensive OEM key fob. Highly recommend if your original cover is cracked or worn.

I bought a used F15 series X5M, and the prior owner took absolutely horrible care of the key fobs. The internals work well, but the BMW logos and the metallic paint on the side pieces were chipped off badly. BMW wanted $450 for each key to replace them, and they do not sell the individual components for cosmetic repair. So I found a company on here that sold the BMW sticker logo replacement for the lock button, and those replacements were absolutely perfect and cheap. Then I found this key fob shell, so for the price, this was a much better solution for me. And it's ultimately a nearly-perfect solution. The M series has black buttons, not silver ones, so I never intended to use the entire shell. Also, I wanted to keep the original key base (which includes the physical grooved key in case the battery dies). So all I needed was the metallic side piece. The color is a little mismatched from the OEM key; the OEM side piece is a little shinier whereas this is slightly more of a matte silver. It's close, but not perfect. Also, the screw hole that connects this replacement side piece to the plastic fob is drilled about 0.5mm too high for the OEM shell. The screw still fits, but it has to go in at a slight angle, and I think it slightly strips the plastic in doing so. I don't feel comfortable removing the screw (not that I ever would), for fear of stripping the now-expanded grooves and not making a tight fit again. Finally, there is about an extra half millimeter of gap between the key base and the side piece compared with the complete OEM fob. I've included pictures showing the entire process. They tell the story. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the result. I'd really like to give this 4.5 stars instead of 5, because it's a nearly perfect fit but certainly not a perfect fit. But I'm not demoting them to 4 stars either; their solution saved me >$400 over replacing the key. If you only have cosmetic damage, this is a great solution. I can't comment on how the internals fit, because I didn't use this for that purpose. I can say that the buttons feel very high quality, and the weight of the entire construct feels the same in my hand to the original. Keep up the good work, Horande! If you ever sell just the side piece alone, I'd buy it for my other scuffed fob! :)

I was getting a "remote battery needs replacement" error on my dash when I got in the car. I believe it is because of the contact between the battery and the board. The case has a terminal that connects the side of the coin cell battery to the board. You can't get at it unless you get the remote apart and then it's destroyed. This case is a great replacement for anyone going through that trouble. I won't guarantee that replacing the case will fix your issue of course, but it did for me. Also, I don't think they mention it, but the BMW logo is actually on this remote body. It's hidden under a piece of black electrical tape and you just don't see it in the product image. Peeling it off reveals the logo which has protective film over it. The key body comes apart fairly easily, it just snaps open. I used a guitar pick and just pushed in on the side. You'll have to push fairly firm and go around the body of it to get it apart. The little studs on the inside where the control board rests are meant to be melted down to the board to hold it in once you've held it in with your hand. I used a soldering iron to do this gently. After testing, I put four small dots of super glue on the edges where the case holds together to make sure it wouldn't pop apart if I accidentally dropped it. The factory key is glued together on all sides.
